From friends at ABC; Peter Jennings is near death. This is unconfirmed, but from usually reliable sources.

The ABC anchor, who was born in Canada but became a US citizen, announced a few months ago that he was suffering from lung cancer. He has not made a televised appearance since.

I remember one Presidential Inauguration I was watching on ABC. Peter and his co-host made a pact that neither would use the term makes his way to .The motorcade had nor even left the White House before Peter slipped up and used the hackneyed phrase, much to the amusement of his co-host - and many viewers no doubt.

She has breast cancer...found during a routine check-up.

Friday was her last chemo treatment. She has stayed on the air, except for the day of or after a treatment...and she seems to be well on the way to health..but,

unfortunately OR fortunately, if you will, she was engaged to be married at the time and I guess her fiancee didn't want to deal with it, and right after she told her audience that she had cancer, she also announced that the marriage was off....

But, she has kept her sense of humor...

I guess, though, that Jennings cancer is way past where her's was...
