Dear MFSO
I used to have a son in the Army. Spc Casey Austin Sheehan was killed in an ambush in Sadr City on 04/04/04. Our family was against this "war" from the beginning. We cannot believe that the American people think this is a good thing. But our son joined the Army in 08/00. He loved it and did well and he was a good soldier. He reenlisted for another 4 years and was looking forward to changing his MOS. He was a mechanic, and according to his superior officers a great one, but he was going to go into Military Personnel. He didn't complain about going to war, he just wanted to get over there and come home. He said "the sooner we go, the sooner we come back"
My dear, sweet, sensitive, faithful, gentle, and loving son was KIA after he had been over there for 2 short weeks He had no idea how soon he would be coming home. He volunteered to go and rescue some of his buddies and was ambushed by an even larger force. He was killed instantly and he didn't suffer, but we are suffering enough for everybody.
It was confirmed by the air force officer who escorted my son home from Iraq that he was one of the flag draped coffins. Shame on America for not wanting to see that! Why? Does it make the civilian families uncomfortable? Everyone of those flag draped coffins was somebody's son! My son never got the chance to be married and have children. He would have been an awesome husband and daddy.

Apparently, he believed in the war he was fighting.
Poor Casey. Must be tough having your mom piss on your grave.
I don't think that America did NOT want to see that. It's not every family's wish that their child's coffin is displayed. A policy of long standing, IIRC.
He was killed instantly and he didn't suffer,
Yes, that's what they all want to believe.
Spare us the ravings of a lunatic. This deranged creature's 15 minutes cannot end soon enough for me. She apparently once thought her son's sacrifice worth it, and the acknowledgement it received from the president appropriate and satisfying...I guess that was before the George Soros/Jane Fonda money started pouring in...
PROTESTING SOLDIER MOM CHANGED STORY ON BUSH
Mon Aug 08 2005 10:11:07 ET
The mother of a fallen U.S. soldier who is holding a roadside peace vigil near President Bush's ranch -- has dramatically changed her account about what happened when she met the commander-in-chief last summer!
Cindy Sheehan, 48, of Vacaville, Calif., who last year praised Bush for bringing her family the "gift of happiness," took to the nation's TV outlets this weekend to declare how Bush "killed an indispensable part of our family and humanity."
CINDY 2004
THE REPORTER of Vacaville, CA published an account of Cindy Sheehan's visit with the president at Fort Lewis near Seattle on June 24, 2004:
"'I now know he's sincere about wanting freedom for the Iraqis,' Cindy said after their meeting. 'I know he's sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he's a man of faith.'
"The meeting didn't last long, but in their time with Bush, Cindy spoke about Casey and asked the president to make her son's sacrifice count for something. They also spoke of their faith.
"The trip had one benefit that none of the Sheehans expected.
"For a moment, life returned to the way it was before Casey died. They laughed, joked and bickered playfully as they briefly toured Seattle.
For the first time in 11 weeks, they felt whole again.
"'That was the gift the president gave us, the gift of happiness, of being together,' Cindy said."
CINDY 2005
Sheehan's current comments are a striking departure.
She vowed on Sunday to continue her protest until she can personally ask Bush: "Why did you kill my son?"
In an interview on CNN, she claimed Bush "acted like it was party" when she met him last year.
"It was -- you know, there was a lot of things said. We wanted to use the time for him to know that he killed an indispensable part of our family and humanity. And we wanted him to look at the pictures of Casey.
"He wouldn't look at the pictures of Casey. He didn't even know Casey's name. He came in the room and the very first thing he said is, 'So who are we honoring here?' He didn't even know Casey's name. He didn't want to hear it. He didn't want to hear anything about Casey. He wouldn't even call him 'him' or 'he.' He called him 'your loved one.'
Every time we tried to talk about Casey and how much we missed him, he would change the subject. And he acted like it was a party.
BLITZER: Like a party? I mean...
SHEEHAN: Yes, he came in very jovial, and like we should be happy that he, our son, died for his misguided policies. He didn't even pretend like somebody...
END
On her current media tour, Sheehan has not been asked to explain her twist on Bush; from praise to damnation!
Developing...
She reminds me of the Jersey Girls. Almost 3000 were killed on September 11th and in the aftermath the very radicalized and partisan Jersey Girls became the official spokes people for all others for all the Sept. 11 related events.
Now it appears that Ms. Sheehan, a very bitter and vicious politically active partisan is now the spokes person for the 1700+ killed in the Iraq War. I'm sure we'll hear more from her than all the rest put together. Perhaps she can team up with the Jersey Girls.
Your 15 minutes are going to end soon.
I'll bet little Sissy Matthews will have her on Softball tonight.
According to her there have been no US female casualties?
If the pentagon had published pictures of his coffin, she would be screaming about them using his death for propaganda.

This poor pathetic woman is to be pitied. I do wish her family would take her home and tend to her.
I wonder who taught her son about honor, respect, courage, and love of country?
She damn sure did not!
Go to this website: http://www.remember.org/witness/cowling.html and read the letter to home written by Lt. William Cowling, one of the liberators of the Dachau concentration camp. Pay special note to the next to the last paragraph. People of his parents' generation evidently had a different concept of service than those of the present generation.
The lunatic mike malloy had a caller on the other night. Made me sick. He basically said they just joined the army for college expenses, not to ever actually fight.
Malloy of course thought that was totally reasonable. Just horrible logic.

She could have taken pictures herself. She could have had reporters take pictures of her son's coffin. The pictures that are forbidden are those of the coffins in the holding facilities.
this person does need help strong help this person do not know good G-D help this person!!!!!!!!!!!!thank you
From a simple layman's standpoint, I realize my professional limitations, yet I remain appalled....by this episode.
Thankfully...most that have lost love ones that have willingly done the heavy lifting and conducted the righteous battle...choose to respect the wishes of the fallen.
Yes, she does need help, anonymoussierra. It's really sad.
WASHINGTON, Aug. 12 A group of about 600 U.S. military families, upset about the living conditions of soldiers in Iraq, are launching a campaign asking their relatives to urge members of Congress and President George W. Bush to bring the troops home. ''We're growing more and more disturbed about the conditions that are developing. Our concerns are both for our troops and the people in Iraq,'' said Nancy Lessin, a founder of Families Speak Out, formed last fall to oppose the war in Iraq. -------- "US military families push to bring Iraq troops home," by Niala Boodhoo, via Drudge / (P)MSNBC Families Speak Out is Military Families Speak Out.

Remember Nancy Lessin and husband Charley Richardson? They were active in the anti-war movement before the war. Remember the FR links?

Lookee Here!!! Here's more on Nancy Lessin - AFL/CIO & Democrat Shill too: all wrapped up in one nice package
From the Dartmouth Review March 23, 2003

Nancy Lessin, the mother of a US Marine currently stationed in the Gulf and one of those bringing suit to stop a potential war, cited as her motivation that we worry about Joe, we dont want him to be wounded or die. We dont want him to be forced to wound or kill innocent Iraqi civilians. That would kill part of him and part of us.

Reuters is copying heavily from a recent Guardian piece of agitprop.
Susan E. Schumann of Shelburne Falls, Mass., (mother of Justin) was co-plaintiff in the MFSO lawsuit in March. (Real nice of her to name the city and building in which Justin sleeps at night.)
Nancy Lessin's military family do not support her. Lessin showed up in Philadelphia on July 4th with a bunch of like-minded folks.

IF this were true, HELL YES!
I do not know why people persons do---- this is not good thank you my strong friend"Peach"
With a mother like that who could blame him, God rest his soul. Another thing, is there a father somewhere in the picture? Did he predeceased his son? Are the mother and father divorced? (Even so you'd expect the father to be someone abouts. After all, he was the lad's father.) Or is Mr. Sheehan no where to be found b/c of grief and, more so, humiliation, shame and embarrassment at his wife's actions?
('Course, OTOH maybe he's been shoulder-to-should with his wife all this while and I just missed it...gee, me? Making a mistake? [grin])
Or Alaska?
Nah, Casey's in the Best of Hands. Probably hoping for the prayers of many for his mom.
She is very much like the Jersey Girls. I heard her voice today and I knew I heard it before on the Laura Ingraham show when they played some clips from Hardball (while talking about bias.)
Here is a Transcript of the interview on Hardball from June 22
Of course, I am sorry for her loss and she is allowed to feel however she wants to feel and to speak out, but it does seem she is becoming a pawn of the left. I thought she sounded a little dim when I heard her interview, and that has not changed.
"I know he's sorry, and feels some pain for our loss...and I know he's a man of faith."
Apparently that's what she said last year, about President Bush, after meeting with him. (A local talkshow host in Seattle just read her quote on the air.)
Cindy Sheehan's son Casey, a soldier, was killed in Iraq on April 4, 2004. "Our family never agreed with the war or it's reasons, but since Casey was killed, so many of the reasons and rationalizations that Bush has given have proven to be lies," Cindy said.
Since April, Cindy has traveled all over the country telling Casey's story. She also started an organization called RealVoices.org, with a focus on filming commercials telling real stories of those greatly impacted by the Bush Administration. The spots were aired before the election in swing states. In her talks, she touches on how the president has betrayed the American people and exploited the brave men and women in uniform to bring more profit to his friends. "My goal is to bring our troops home to try and save another mother from going through what I am going through."

Cindy Sheehan (snip) said yesterday on CNN that a private meeting with President Bush last year was offensive, insisting, "He acted like it was a party ... he came in very jovial, like we should be happy that ... our son died for [the President's] misguided policies."
But just after that 2004 meeting, she gave a very different account, (snip) "I now know [the president is] sincere about wanting freedom for the Iraqis. I know he's sorry and feels some pain for our loss. And I know he's a man of faith." (snip)

The best thing about invading Alaska is that they would NEVER expect it.
Unless they read that post up there...^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
No pity on a lunatic. The world would have been better off if it was her dead and her son alive. Sorry, but he was a true American hero who believed in something and acted upon it. She is a sorry, lying POS.
Her immediate family isn't going to do anything to help her. They are almost as crazy as she is. I wouldn't doubt if her close relatives are Bush haters as well. She is now getting a lot of attention from every left wing wackjob out there. Till they all go away I see no hope for this lady or her soul.
She's also saying the American people are not worth defending.
What's most interesting about this is the way the DU and their ilk have gravitated to her like flys on sh**. Its completely shameless. They don't care about her or her problems; they only care about the damage she might be able to do to Bush, the military and the republicans in general. Absolutely amazing - you should go check out their stuff (or watch the movie Seven, for more light-hearted fare).
Grief can make anyone deranged. Not this woman, but the people who are egging her on, deserve our condemnation.
As far as I'm concerned, anyone who loses a son or daughter in service to the United States can say whatever they want.
It is not my place to judge such a person.
However, it is also not necessary for me to agree with the dark logic of grief, either, because it is usually wrong.
I wish Mrs. Sheehan well, but her public displays are little more than a sad footnote to a tragic tale.
He reenlisted in 2004, well after the war had started. Why? Was he "lining his pockets?"
Let me know what I can do.
You can stop embarassing every mother (and father) in America who has lost a son, whatever the reason.
