Indian origin doctor stoned in racial attack (UK: Hindus attacked for the actions of Muslims)

An Indian origin doctor in Britain was pelted with stones and verbally abused by a gang of youths in a racially motivated attack following the London bombings.

Yashen Maharaj, 28, who was attacked on July 23, had worked as part of Medway National Health Service Trust's standby team to treat victims of the July 7 London bombings.

"The doctor was verbally abused and more disturbingly had missiles, including large stones and rocks thrown at him, one of which hit the doctor on the back," a hospital spokeswoman said.

Maharaj continued to attend his duties but declined to talks to newsmen.

The spokeswoman said: "Fortunately, the doctor was not seriously injured in the incident, but was extremely shaken and dismayed."

"The racial abuse from the youths was particularly disgusting, as it was aimed at the very people who, on the day of the bombings, were on standby as part of the Trust's London Emergency Planning procedure and could potentially have been needed to treat the very same victims from the bombings," she said.

"The Trust would like to make it very clear that it will not tolerate any racial abuse on any of its staff on or off the hospital premises, particularly in the tensions following recent terrorist events in London," she said.

"So you can be 100% certain "Yashen Maharaj" isnt a Muslim."

I think if I were Hindu in the UK I would consider having my name embroidered on a baseball cap and wear it in public, along with a Union Jack patch perhaps? Anything to make sure I wasn't mistaken for a Muslim.

Perhaps a moon and star patch with the circle slash through it? No Islam.

Isn't this the Muslin's fault too? If they would practice their religion peacefully nobody would be being beaten up.

No the Mooseslimes can't be held accountable for their actions. They are simply doing what their religion tells them to do.

We should all just offer ourselves up for slaughter so that they will have freedom of religion here and eventually be able to put the US under Shiara law (sp). In Britain too

/sarcasm off

It doesn't really matter to those yobbos what distinctions we elitist upper crust people draw, now does it. You go into their pubs with a bunch of PC rhetoric and they're liable to take you out back and rearrange your face for YOU too.

It is said that it's only the middle class that has to worry about societal convention. The rich don't give a sh!t because they can buy their way out of trouble. The poor don't give a sh!t because they've got nothing to lose. It's a beautiful thing really. Sorry about the doctor.

Isn't that "Sharia"? It sounds so nice. If I ever have a daughter, I'm going to name her "Sharia". /sarc.

I would recommend that all Indians wear red dots on their foreheads, so as to make it clear they are Hindus. Sikhs can wear their orange turbans but should have a sign saying "I am not a filthy Muslim" or something like that.

There was a joke in India that the Americans are so poor in geography and general knowledge that they actually believe they have taken out OBL everytime they kill a Sikh. (something to that extent)

Now we might have a joke on the Poms.

It may be timely to recall, that todays India, was comprised of Pakistan and Bangladesh, both of which, are now Muslin countries. Residents of all three countries are of the same descent.... Logic would seem to dictate, that some Indo-Indians, are Muslims....

The two countries, Pakistan and Bangladesh, were establisted, by Partition in 1947, following riots, between the Hindus and Muslims....

>>In India most of the times you can easily figure out the religion or the eihnic community a person belongs to, just from the name. <<

Hmmm. . .not true in the US, by the way.

I don't know about that, but then I am yet to meet a Christian with a name having Muhammad, Salim or Abdullah.

Even Tennessee Williams will attest to this! ;^)
