Moscow, August 9, Interfax - Russia’s Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar believes the Earth will soon see the coming a Messiah to reward everyone according to his deserts.
‘We know that he (Messiah - IF) is very near at hand, but he needs not only to be born but also to come. The Messiah may well have been born already, but unless he is ordered by God he cannot reveal himself with God’s help and change the world for the better’, the rabbi said in an interview published by the Gazeta daily on Tuesday.
Lazar explained this assumptions about the imminent coming of a Messiah by the fact that “the world today is in a state described by our sages as ‘hevley mashiah’, that is, labour that precedes the coming of a Messiah’.
‘It is a time’, he explained, ‘when many good things are created in the world and the progress of science and technology has made it possible to solve many human problems, to overcome diseases, famine, etc., on one hand. On the other hand, it is for the first time since God created human beings that humans have taken hold of such means of destruction that the whole of our race and even the globe itself can be destroyed instantly’.
‘We are living on the verge of history; it can be felt everywhere’, Rabbi Lazar is convinced. Recalling the comparison made by philosopher Maimonides who likened the world to scales, Lazar assumed that ‘perhaps God is waiting for only one deed to be put on the good scale to order the Messiah to reveal himself’.
Speaking about it, Russia’s chief rabbi called upon everyone ‘to add this good deed as one’s contribution may prove decisive’.
Dan 9:25 "Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.....
This was from the decree of Artaxerxes (Mar. 14, 445BC) in the book of Nehemiah (chapt 2) 173,880 days later and right on time Yeshua the Messiah rode into Jerusalem on the foal of an ass being proclaimed "King".
Dan 9:26 "And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, (executed) but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined." Dan 9:27 "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease
(reveals Yeshua being killed in the middle of the week - wednesday, (that's why there's no such thing as "good friday") and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation,,,,"

Sometimes the Messiah comes where we can't see Him in fact.

From the Bible, my source of facts, the next coming of Messiah, everyone will see him:
Rev. 1:7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
Only a couple thousand years too late....although my pastor keeps saying that He is coming back, and in our life time.
Of course I have been hearing that FOREVER.
Jesus himself also told the Apostles he would visit others.

God promised Abraham...

Historically, it is Jesus of Nazareth alone who has turned people from every nation to seek the blessings of the God of Abrahan, Isaac & Jacob.
Today, 2.1 billion people, one third of the population of the world align themselves with the historic faith of Abraham and the Jewish (and Christian) Scriptures as the Word of God - all because of Jesus Christ.
Whether you believe him to be Messiah or not, it certainly appears that he is fulfilling God's ancient promise to Abraham.
Jesus said -
(John 5:43) "I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive."
Muawiyah knows something the writer of the book of Hebrews did not know:
Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
Two comings of Messiah. The second time it won't be to bring salvation, i.e., to die bearing the sins of the world, it will be for judgment.

I'd pretty much have to know what denomination you were representing and which version of what translation you were focusing on this year to figure out everything that you just said.
Since my initial statement referred to a more general case which included Hinduism and it's claims regarding the Messiah, I'd suggest you take it up with your local religious authorities.
There's a very interesting passage in the bible (read old testament), that says that G-d shall send different prophets to different people.
Regardless, since those 2.1 billion people are charged with following G-d's laws, and being decent people, I have no complaints.
You have to remember, though, that Jews don't seek to convert others (for the most part). We welcome converts, but we aren't supposed to proselytize. Non-Jews do not need to follow the halakha laws to secure a place in the world to come, for example; only Jews do.
Thus, I love Christians as my brothers and sisters, because they worship the same G-d as I do, and follow the commandments as I do. And I applaud Jesus and his disciples for making the world a better place. But I can't accept Jesus as the Messiah without betraying my own faith and ignoring the scriptural conditions for the arrival of the messiah. ;)
Doesn't mean I won't stand up for Christianity and Christians when push comes to shove, though. Or defend the name and deeds of Christianity from those who would try to sully its name (because if I am not for my brother, who is for me?).
Same G-d, but to put it glibly, I'll wait to embrace the Messiah: and if it's his second time here, I'll say I'm sorry for doubting, and hope I'm forgiven.
And if he says he can't remember...Well, then, we'll call it a draw! (But everyone wins because the Messiah is here) ;)
Not for me, it isn't. ;) It's just a little quirky thing some Jews and Christians do to avoid using the name of G-d in vain, and to emphasize how sacred it is.

If you don't mind my asking, how would accepting Jesus as Messiah betray your faith?
Additionally, what do you see as the scriptural conditions for the arrival of the messiah?
