I'll take your word for it, since I don't speak Slavonic or whatever language "Baltusrol" is in.

Golf is a conservative sport; you police yourself...

Old saying: "You can learn a lot about a person on a golf course."

Baltisrol is the name of the golf course the pros are playing at this week, named for a Scottish immigrant farmer named Baltis Roll who was murdered in the mid-19th century. His farm is the land the golf course now occupies.

News Flash: Tiger hits a 121. TV and newspapers will still give him more face time and ink than all the other golfers put together. "We still think he has a chance to win," ESPN said.

Suspended? I thought that was the object of the game?

Well, in an even more trivial aside, Baltusrol the golf club is named for the farmer who used to own the land, Balthus Rolle. Guess they dropped the 'h' to avoid confusion.....

"We still think he has a chance to win," ESPN said.

Tiger did come back from 7 strokes down with 7 holes to go to win at Pebble Beach several years back. Will he win this week? Not likely, but he should never be counted out until the math makes it impossible.

he eagled his 9th hole and double bogeyed his 10th.

In other words, the golf gods giveth, and the golf gods taketh right back again.

Phil wins, in his mind at least, if he beats Tiger. He saw the chance to stomp on Tiger today and demoralize him with a 13 shot deficit even before Tiger teed it up. Mission accomplished, imho.

Actually, we both had it wrong... His name was Baltus Roll, murdered in 1831....
