Bill: I never tied war to terror fight
NY Daily ^ | 8/12/05 | Kenneth Bazinet

Posted on 08/12/2005 10:46:57 AM PDT by Tumbleweed_Connection

While Iraq is now called a main front in the war on terror, former President Bill Clinton said yesterday said he never really saw it as such.

"I never thought [Iraq] had much to do with the war on terror, except that we were looking to see if there were biological and chemical agents there," he told CNN's "Situation Room."

And though he said it's too late now, Clinton said he thought the UN weapons inspectors should have been allowed to complete their job: "The UN inspections were well-advised. But it was clearly not going to have anything to do with Al Qaeda."

The Bush administration, in particular Vice President Cheney, has linked deposed dictator Saddam Hussein to Osama Bin Laden's Al Qaeda network.

As for his wife, the former President insisted that Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) is not a candidate for President - even though sources have told the Daily News he will be her chief strategist if and when she does run.

"She's not a candidate," Bill Clinton said, "and I don't know that she will be ... I am convinced in my own mind she hasn't decided on that. I believe I would know if she had."

Bil Clinton: quite simply and inarguably the worst MAN ever to be President.

Whether or not he was the worst President, Carter gives him a run for the money.

I call BS!!

That indictment was returned before the embassy bombings and resulted from a two-year grand jury investigation of his activities in Somalia and Saudi Arabia, as well as reports that he had connections to a circle of Islamic militants in Brooklyn.
****My foot note here - Where were the terrorists Atta was said to have ties to? Brooklyn?****

The new indictment, which supersedes the June action, accuses Mr. bin Laden of leading a vast terrorist conspiracy from 1989 to the present, in which he is said to have been working in concert with governments, including those of Sudan, Iraq and Iran, and terrorist groups to build weapons and attack American military installations.

SEE---this man was soooo uninterested in the hard work of being POTUS, he would give speeches but not even know what he was saying...otherwise he would REMEMBER the things you just pointed out...

But we all know that his brains were in his pants...and the only thing he loved more than applause and adoration was, well...you know!

Bills brain has been fried by Cocaine and other narcotic substances. He is not able to process logical thought. Surprise, surprise, surprise.

In certain cultures, Bill Clinton's tongue would have been cut off too many times to count on a super computer.

Bill Clinton used the office of the presidency to pick up chicks. Anything else was a distraction.

During the 1992 presidential campaign, Al Gore criticized the first Bush administration for a "blatant disregard" of Iraq's ties to terrorism. On September 29, 1992 Al Gore said, "The Reagan/Bush Administration was also prepared to overlook the fact that the terrorist who masterminded the attack on the Achille Lauro and the savage murder of American Leon Klinghoffer fled with Iraqi assistance. Nor did it matter that the team of terrorists who set out to blow up the Rome airport came from Baghdad with suitcase bombs." Gore went on to say, "There might have been a moment's pause for reflection when Iraqi aircraft intentionally attacked the USS Stark in May 1987, killing 37 sailors -- but the Administration smoothed it over very fast."

The job of the UN inspectors was to delay and decieve in order to continue the Oil for Food scam.

ROFL!! Unfortunately, we all remember all too well what Clinton was really interested in.

He just talks to hear the sound of his own voice, and, as you pointed out, contradicts himself pretty frequently and doesn't remember his own words from previous rambling exercises.

Yeah...Clinton went JUST a little to far when he started saying the UN inspectors were getting the job done...

How DID he say that with a straight face?

"The UN inspections were well-advised. But it was clearly not going to have anything to do with Al Qaeda."

These guys forget it was Clinton's Justice Department that stated al Qaeda and Iraq were cooperating on weapons development.

See US Government - Bin Laden and Iraq Agreed to Cooperate on Weapons Development

From a State Department press release of 1998 (04 November 1998
BIN LADEN, ATEF INDICTED IN U.S. FEDERAL COURT FOR AFRICAN BOMBINGS
By Judy Aita USIA Staff Writer):

"In addition, al Qaeda reached an understanding with the Government of Iraq that al Qaeda would not work against that government and that on particular projects, specifically including weapons development, al Qaeda would work cooperatively with the Government of Iraq," the indictment said.

Mary Jo White, as US Attorney in New York, produced the indictment of bin Laden in 1998 for the Clinton Justice Department that stated directly that al Qaeda and Iraq were cooperating on weapons development.

That statement that you just posted, should be the first thing put up on every newscast that does a story about Sheehan...she says that she changed her mind about Bush because she has since found out that there was NO tie between Iraq and al-Queda...

Of course, no one will...but thank YOU for posting this.

A liar spewing lies. Nothing new here. LOL
