MSNBC ran a report on this just now, with photos.

Remember that story from a year+ back about that plot in Jordan to set off a chemical weapon in Annan? That story went nowhere of course, quickly buried. The reporter on MSNBC said his sources believed this facility, and/or the people running it, is linked to that Annan attack that was thwarted.

Once we got into Iraq, all the liberals/anti-warists were asking "Where are the WMDs?" I posted something back then that the fact that they aren't there should be a greater concern. Sadaam used them, he produced, they are somewhere. I hope this is it. IMHO, as always, if they weren't/aren't there--they are somewhere.

If Yahoo news is posting this, you can bet that it's more than rumor.

U.S. troops, acting on a tip from detainees under interrogation, raided a "suspected insurgent chemical production facility" in northern Iraq

I sure hope they didn't make the detainees put women's underwear on their heads to extract this information. That would be wrong.

"unclear---intended for weapons" are you shixxing me? We know the desert dirtbags have all the aspirin they need. This was no doubt a toothpaste factory since it is plain they don't have all of that they need. It takes a lot of clorox to kill the breath of goat! Mosul you say? somebody's not still mad at the Kurds are they? Lets save some of this pantherpiss and feed it to the next batch of virgin hunters we capture---we'll find out if they were just making Flintstones---or some other kind of hair curlers.

"..The military cautioned in a statement, however, that ongoing testing at the facility was "insufficient to determine what the insurgents had been producing" and that further tests were required..."

From what has happened in the past, I'm not sure these chemists would find poison gas if they were dipped in it. Everything is precursors or pesticides, no matter how fast it can kill you.

Remember this?
USA Today: 12/3/2003:, Canoe, news
On another issue, UNMOVIC said advanced testing and analysis had indicated that the strain of anthrax found on R400 bombs that Iraq declared that it unilaterally destroyed was the same strain that it had earlier declared to have weaponized.
I imagine this story will be buried as well should they find anything of interest.
