It's official: the Democrats are trying to exploit the Cindy Sheehan situation for all its worth, and in doing so are allying themselves with the worst of the left-wing fringe. Check out the email below I just received from "Democracy for America," the group founded by Howard Dean when he was defeated in the primaries. Not only does it promote the holding of support "vigils" for Sheehan, but notes its alliance with the far-left MoveOn.org and True Majority.

Our sons made the ultimate sacrifice and we want answers. All we're asking is that President Bush sacrifice an hour out of his five-week vacation to talk to us, before the next mother loses her son in Iraq. - Cindy Sheehan, August 12, 2005
Dear ,
By now, you've heard of Cindy Sheehan, mother of Army Specialist Casey Sheehan who was killed in Iraq, and her vigil outside President Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas. What you may not know is that Cindy is a regular DFA Meetup participant in Sacramento. She has held vigil outside the president's ranch for over a week now.
President Bush has refused to meet with Cindy. On Saturday, he said that there are lots of people who have "something to say to the president" and "it's also important for me to go on with my life."
But Cindy says that she won't leave until President Bush meets with her to discuss the war -- even if it means spending all of August there. We need to show that Cindy is not alone. Cindy has asked supporters to hold candlelight vigils in their communities to remind people of the terrible price of war. Democracy for America is teaming up with MoveOn and True Majority to organize nationwide "Vigils for Cindy Sheehan" on Wednesday, August 17, starting at 7:30 PM local time. President Bush's Saturday schedule included a two hour bike ride, an evening Little League Baseball playoff game, a lunch meeting with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, a nap, some fishing and some reading. Don't you think he can take a few minutes to meet with Cindy?
Join a vigil this week to show support for Cindy and ask President Bush to do the right thing.

These vigils aren't rallies or places to give long-winded speeches. They are moments to solemnly come together and mark the sacrifice of Cindy and other families.

Thank you for standing with Cindy.

Boy..we grow em dumb out here in Kalifornia.
Maxine Waters has been down in Crawford. Kucinich and Conyers have Sheehan posts on their websites. The Dems have been aligning themselves with Sheehan since the beginning. It took only a week for Dean to get his idiotic brain in there.
Yeah, but the REAL problem is you let them escape!
Ping A Ling
......eeeeeeeeeeeeeHAAAAAAAAAAA!!......dork
Doogle
It was official when Joe Trippi, Howard Dean's Presidential Campaign Manager, became involved.
The Wall Street Journal's Best of the Web feature has lots of material today about various outrageous statements Sheehan has made, including these:
In April, at a speech before the United Methodist Church in Venice, Calif., Sheehan likened Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to "Hitler and Stalin" and was particularly lurid in describing her hatred of Rumsfeld's then-deputy:
As soft-spoken and sincere-sounding as Paul Wolfowitz is, is there yet any sane adult in this country whose skin does not crawl when this murderous liar opens his mouth and speaks?
She concluded: "In their secret hiding places, while celebrating newly won fortunes with their fellow brass, these men must surely congratulate themselves with orgies of carnal pleasure as they mock the multitudes who are yet so blind as to mistake them for God's devoted servants."
Good point.
You mean David Duke the Neo-Nazi has all these Dem's agreeing with him and Cindy? Well well well.
TEE HEE - DUers just posted the David Duke Story! Shocker! LOL
Is anyone watching Shep Smith on FNC? A few minutes ago he was interviewing Juan Williams about the Sheehan affair. I tuned in in the middle, but it seemed that Smith was harshly criticizing a conservative FNC commentator [perhaps Fred Barnes] for his description of Sheehan, saying what had been said about her was so bad he couldn't repeat it.
Anyone catch this? Is Shep going wobbly?
Put's on decontamiation suit before their thread is pulled. brb.
We are NOT a democracy!! What a bunch of idiots!!
I hadn't heard about this, but Googled it and found this on David Duke's blog:
Why Cindy Sheehan is Right!
By David Duke
Cindy Sheehan, a mother who lost a son in the Iraq War, is determined to prevent other mothers and fathers from experiencing the same loss.
Courageously she has gone to Texas near the ranch of President Bush and braved the elements and a hostile Jewish supremacist media to demand a meeting with him and a good explanation why her son and other’s sons and daughters must die and be disfigured in a war for Israel rather than for America.
Recently, she had the courage to state the obvious that her son signed up in the military to protect America not to die for Israel.
In a recent letter to “Nightline,” she wrote the following hard-hitting words:
Am I emotional? Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a PNAC Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full-well that my son, my family, this nation, and this world were betrayed by George [W.] Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNAC agenda after 9/11. We were told that we were attacked on 9/11 because the terrorists hate our freedoms and democracy…not for the real reason, because the Arab-Muslims who attacked us hate our middle-eastern foreign policy. That hasn’t changed since America invaded and occupied Iraq…in fact it has gotten worse.
Now, a gauntlet of personal attacks has been let out against her. A recent article on David Horowitz’s FrontPage and repeated by many pro-Israel zealots dares to compare her with that incorrigible American, me. Here is a FrontPage reader’s commentary published in the Lonestar Times.
…(Sheehan) voiced vaguely anti-Semitic rhetoric when she alleged that the Iraq War was all about protecting Israel, i.e. a Jewish conspiracy (a similar opinion is frequently expressed by David Duke and his ilk).” – From the Lonestar Times August, 13, 2005
In truth, Cindy Sheehan is absolutely right. Her son signed up in the military to defend America, not Israel, and to safeguard our own democracy, not the democracy of some foreign nation that neither wants nor needs it. In advancing this war for Israel, government and media advocates obviously couldn’t get Americans behind the war by saying it was a war for Israel. They had to make up bogus reasons for the war, such as saying that Iraq was an imminent threat to America and that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. Now that these lies have been exposed, they have changed the rationale for the war to “fighting for democracy” and “fighting against terrorism.” Here’s a short list showing why Cindy Sheehan is right!
LOL Not many DUers replying to it yet. But soon they will be cursing up a storm! LOL I don't see what the big deal is and why they should be upset. She's an anti-semite, he's an anti-semite, they have it in common! They would probably get along very well.
LOL. I think the fact she used such a lurid phrase gives some insight into her fevered mind.
It was posted yesterday. I sent it to every liberal Jew in my family and my liberal Jewish friends. Next I'm e-mailing it to local synogogues.
August is the silly season in politics, this proves it, LOL.
Once again my personal thanks to Howard Dean for not dissappointing.
