Press-Telegram ^

Posted on 08/19/2005 12:21:43 AM PDT by clawrence3

Sheehan refused to answer any other questions after arriving at Los Angeles International Airport shortly before 9:30 p.m.

Sheehan's mother, Shirley Miller, is in Tri-City Regional Medical Center in Hawaiian Gardens, after suffering a stroke, according to KCAL.

Wasn't there something about her being arrested on Thursday? There must not of been anything to it or she never would have left Crawford for her mother or anybody else.

Well, I didn't hear anyone was actually threatening arrest, but besides sedition, they could get her on tax evasion, trespass, disturbing the peace, and receiving stolen property . . . maybe that's why she needed an excuse to get the heck out of Dodge?

Perhaps the fat lady from "Fahrenheit 911" will replace Cindy. After all, there's no real difference in their mission, message, or misguided determination to disgrace the efforts of the military to safeguard our future.

Then again, perhaps Cindy will stage another vigil demanding an explanation from the President as to why her mother is ill? Or better still, Michael Moore might shove a camera in Cindy's face and ask that all important question "How do you feel?"

I don't think so.She wants to be arrested, for her kind it's a badge of honor.

If she thought she could be arrested she would have stayed put, waiting for the cuffs.

Her momma is Plan B.

My assessment is that she does not care. Just as she never cared for her son who FOUGHT FOR HIS COUNTRY. Her son re-upped for a second term, and his mother hates his guts for that. I'd like to vent more, but I would be banned, even without the expletives. IMOHO

"My assessment is that she does not care."

I'm wondering what she DOES care for? Doesn't she care for her goal of ending the Iraq War? And every day that she is away from Crawford is one more day that Bush is killing more and more of our sons and daughters? One would think that saving the lives of misled youth in an unjust war for Bush's Jewish/Oil cabal is far more important than visiting with your mother - even if she is in her last days.

Sounds to me like Cindy doesn't have her whole heart behind this Bash Bush (I mean Stop the War) Vigil.

It is certainly difficult to have any more sympathy for Cindy - we are supposed to pray even for our enemies though. Here's the first part of that article you can't link to: "Tri-City Hospital's Tax-Exempt Status - An Abuse of Public Trust? An organization is not a non-profit simply because it says so. There are state and federal standards that non-profit entities must meet in order to maintain their legal status -- and to qualify for tax-exemption. A review of California state health care data, Internal Revenue Service non-profit guidelines as well as Tri-City Regional Medical Center's lease with owner Irving Moskowitz all strongly suggest that rather than serving the health needs of Hawaiian Gardens and the surrounding community, the hospital is mainly operating as a private surgical facility for a wealthy physician's stomach stapling practice . . ." We could protest 2 birds with 1 stone ; )

... and, while I'm at it: I might as well pray she recovers from her recent stroke, as well.

I find it a very telling fact that while many of us freepers are vehemently anti-Cindy, almost every post I've read has nothing but prayers and best wishes to her family. The true belief in "life" and never wishing death upon anyone, regardless of our hatred for their politics is in stark contrast to the left's frequent jubilation at the idea of death to GW Bush, not to mention the applause at the sight of Ronald Reagan being shot on film.

The thing that really gets me about Cindy is that she so obvioiusly hated everythng Casey stood for and worked for, and did everything she could to undermine him and his mission while he was alive. There were probably other very serious issues between Cindy and Casey before he joined the Army, an act that must have really galled her, let alone the extent to which she must have been infuriated by his re-enlisting contrary to her deepest desires. From her view of America, he'd basically married the Devil's daughter and started having children with the Devil's daughter. That being the case, it would be very easy for her not to feel much real grief at all, but to be anxious to parade as much false "grief" as possible and use it as a weapon to slime Casey's memory and mission, which is exactly what she's doing.

Now she fraudulently, loudly, and lugubriously "grieves" about his death every time a TV camera is pointed at her, just like Bill Clinton "grieving" over Ron Brown's death. Even more vile, she's crassly appropriated Casey's heroic death and twisted it to attack everything he honorably stood for. In effect, as a way to express her real hatred for him and get posthumous revenge on him for his patriotism, she's installed a toilet on top of his grave, copiously used it herself, and invited thousands of other traitors to do the same. Utterly contemptible.

Since Cindy was involved in every far left, anti-American cause she could find long before Casey enlisted, she did everything she could to undermine him and his mission and encourage the Islamofascists to murder every American they could, just the way Nick Berg's father did.

Surprise!! The Islamofascists took that encouragement by those two evil people and murdered Nick Berg and Casey Sheehan. Short of pulling the trigger herself, "Mother Cindy" couldn't have done much more to kill Casey. That puts her right there beside Andrea Yates. What's far worse, she's now trying to make sure lots more Americans, thousands more, get killed by the Islamofascist subhumans.

I suppose it's just me, but this story about her sick mother is just too convenient for getting Cindy out of a situation that was spiralling out of control for her and the libs. The story about her sick mother doesn't quite pass the smell test with me.

In a Providence Journal article about an appearance by Sheehan at a Rhode Island church published July 27, 2005, reporter Elizabeth Gudrais wrote:

For one thing, Sheehan said, she has stopped paying her taxes. "I didn't pay my taxes for 2004," she said. When a letter arrives declaring her payment delinquent, she said, "I'll say no -- I don't owe you a penny. We'll see what they do to me."

Last Friday, Sheehan gave a speech in Dallas, Texas at the Veterans for Peace conference. According to a published transcript, Sheehan said the following:

Another thing that I’m doing is - - my son was killed in 2004, so I’m not paying my taxes for 2004. If I get a letter from the IRS, I’m gonna say, you know what, this war is illegal; this is why this war is illegal. This war is immoral; this is why this war is immoral. You killed my son for this. I don’t owe you anything. And if I live to be a million, I won’t owe you a penny.

And I want them to come after me, because unlike what you’ve been doing with the war resistance, I want to put this frickin’ war on trial. And I want to say, “You give me my son, and I’ll pay your taxes.”

You people are sick, didn't care for her son?

Everyone who talks like this must have a son or daughter in the service and if you don't you should be encouraging them join as soon as possible.

And that is simply your interpretation of what you see or hear.

It doesn't mean it's right or has any fact to it.

I think that there are a lot of Military families that feel as she does but are afraid to admit it. They IMO are afraid that their loss would feel greater if they thought their loved ones died in an unjust war. So to them it feels better to believe they die for some great cause. And the fear of being labeled unpatriotic by people like you.

And I do have relatives serving in Iraq.

Statement by Cindy Sheehan:

As you've probably heard by now, my sister and I left the other Gold Star mothers in Crawford last night, after our mother had a stroke. I plan on returning to Camp Casey very soon, but while I'm in Los Angeles please respect that my sister, brother and I are here focusing on our mother, while the moms in Crawford focus on Bush. The President is not off the hook.

More and more mothers come to Crawford daily with their stories of grief and hope, so we can prevent more moms from losing their children in a war based on lies.

Reports that I'll be holding any kind of media events or talking to the press in LA are false.
