The dirty little secret behind this is that the methamphetamine trade is doing very well in Salt Lake and it's easy to get. Rocky Anderson is very happy to help Salt Lake turn into San Francisco. He'll be retired to his mountain ranch before he has to worry about what a dump SLC is becoming. He'll be gone, so he won't have to step over passed-out people in the gutter and their crap (literally) on the sidewalks.

I don't think Mormons
are specifically friendly
to fringe sex people,
I think that Mormons
are friendly to everyone.
Not quite the same thing.

Just read that other posting about Mayor Anderson. Is he off his meds?

I was wondering what "gay friendly" means. Does that mean the gays can have open sex in public places or that they aren't beaten by publically funded mobs of morality police.

They probably think the high salt content will help stem the spread of AIDS.

Remind me to book a Sandals vacation sometime in the future.

Perhaps in addition to sending missionaries around the world the LDS should send some to downtown Salt Lake.

Sad that some people define themselves solely based on where they choose to put their penises.
To: billnaz
thats what happens when you leave town, maybe Salt Lake will have to move somewhere else, I can feel the panic setting in . here, there determined to find somewhere it might as well be there. mischief me, but its all true.

If I don't book a Sandals vacation I'm apparently in the next best place...Ohio.
But I don't know about that, I still see gays walking around here. Maybe we better work on getting more harsh words into our marriage laws.

What's Rocky Anderson's background? Is he a local or a transplant? Salt Lake City seems at odds with itself. It doesn't help that Robert Redford thinks he's the one that discovered Utah and has crowned himself the prince of it.

Right. When someone tells me they're "gay" I tell them I'm "usually missionary position - with my wife".

Homosexual Agenda Ping.
The article could have been written by a program that inserts code words and phrases every other sentence.
Note such phrases as "non-judgemental", "celebrates diversity", and the winner: "no matter what their sexual preference or race".
As though the race you're born with and can't change is in any way is similar to a psychological dysfunction which in many cases is curable.
Watch, out, citizens of Utah!
Freepmail me if you want on/off this pinglist.
(Note - I will be doing my ping thing in a couple of days. This is a token to let you know I am still alive!)

When it comes to being a place friendly to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender travelers, Salt Lake City is a much nicer place than most people would think - based on Utah's reputation as a bastion of conservatism.
** They seem to be saying because they're aren't lynched, killed and oppressed that the Mormons and other religious people accept/believe in their sexual lifestyles. I have gay friends, have met many gay males, etc. but they know that I'm concerned for their health and well being. They seem surprised that christians are acting like christians.

Soft on porn and child molestation too. We were thinking of moving to Utah, Idaho or S. Dakota, but the druggies, child killers ect., seem to be moving into the last bastion of hope, the rural areas. Gotta leave the country I guess, nobody left willing to fight these scum!
