President Clinton and his national security team ignored several opportunities to capture Osama bin Laden and his terrorist associates, including one as late as last year.
I know because I negotiated more than one of the opportunities.
From 1996 to 1998, I opened unofficial channels between Sudan and the Clinton administration. I met with officials in both countries, including Clinton, U.S. National Security Advisor Samuel R. "Sandy" Berger and Sudan's president and intelligence chief. President Omar Hassan Ahmed Bashir, who wanted terrorism sanctions against Sudan lifted, offered the arrest and extradition of Bin Laden and detailed intelligence data about the global networks constructed by Egypt's Islamic Jihad, Iran's Hezbollah and the Palestinian Hamas.

What's in this article is common knowledge to us. But, the Nation Geographic special that is being broadcast as I write this has completely skipped over these facts.

I can see it coming up, they have ignored Clinton's culpability for Osama and terrorism, but will show all sorts of "signs" that Bush should have known about 9/11 in early 1991.

The only thing Mr. Clinton was concerned with while in the white house and presently is how much work his willie was getting.
Yes, I watched the program and as usual MSNBC puts the blame on GW. They show Clinton in a suit and tie, but GW at his ranch cutting wood when he was given an alert that terrorists were planning an imminent attack on the U.S.
I don't need the reminder....but will keep an eye out for that book.
