AOL Poll: Cindy's Support Fading (Yes!)

Watching Bush-bashing Gold Star mom Cindy Sheehan's press coverage, you'd think she has won the hearts and minds of Americans by universal acclamation.

But a massive poll by America Online suggests that Sheehan is actually losing the public opinion battle by a landslide.

Asked: "Do you agree with Sheehan's views?" Cindy's supporters trail her critics, 56 to 44 percent, with nearly 290,000 Americans responding to the technically unscientific survey. Asked, "Do you agree with Sheehan's tactics?" Cindy faired even worse, losing that contest 59 to 44 percent.

Other, much smaller "scientific" surveys also show Sheehan losing support, but by smaller margins.

AOL allowed for an extra 3% of disenfranchised voters who were too intimidated to go to participate in the AOL poll.

It should be added that AOL's news sites are frequented by what seems to be every left-wing and DU nut in the country. So the poll results probably reflect inflated support for Sheehan.

I thought the 3% was speculation on how people without internet access, who would have voted if they knew what the internet was, would have voted. The disenfrenchfried voter angle did not cross my mind. Good catch

All the old hippies rallying to Crawford as if to another Woodstock have ruined it for her....they've made it into even more a silly circus than it already was.....

"Cindy who?"

That is what I was thinking. I have not one clue who they are talking about. Is she some liberal movie star?

"I thought the 3% was speculation on how people without internet access, who would have voted if they knew what the internet was, would have voted."

Hmmm. What about the people without internet access who would normally go down to the local mosque to log in to AOL, but were instead cowering at home in fear of the Patriot Act? The homeless? Prison inmates?

The implications here are serious and may suggest that all poll and even elections where the outcome favors conservatives or republicans are in fact (gulp) fixed.

No they dont show her losing support, they show that she's never had majority support to begin with.

No problem. Few polls are skewed to the right because most polls are controlled by the left.
