Testifying against John A. Gotti today, Curtis Sliwa, the founder of the Guardian Angels crime patrol group, described in vivid detail being shot at point-blank range while sitting in the back seat of a taxicab 13 years ago.
Mr. Sliwa relived the shooting before a jury in Federal District Court in Manhattan, where Mr. Gotti, 41, the scion of the Gambino crime family, is being tried on racketeering charges.
Mr. Gotti is facing a 42-page indictment including securities fraud, loansharking, construction industry extortion, and charges of conspiracy to kidnap Mr. Sliwa. He was indicted in July on charges of ordering the retaliatory attack on Mr. Sliwa after the Guardian Angels founder denounced Mr. Gotti's father, the late crime boss, on his radio program.

She in not his wife, but his sister. Victoria was married to another gangland thug. Victoria has taken back to her maiden name.

Her husband was in the chop shop business so there was a load of unreported cash flowing into her bank account. Somehow or other she was able to partake of these illegally gotten gains but only her husband is serving time.
Oh, she is also an "author".
I don't think Victoria ever took her husband's surname. I read somewhere where she lamented to her father all the trouble she and her kids were in because they were "Gottis". But John Gotti Sr. told her she brought it on herself by keeping the Gotti surname, and not taking her husband's less infamous name.

I think her persona is to play the victim. She's whines that the world hassles them because they're Gottis, and then plays the tragic mom on TV who can't get her kids to listen to her. But she gives them everything they want!
I actually watched a few episodes of this show, but I have no idea why. Just curiousity I guess.
