First of all I never said Chavez should be assassinated.
You need to follow the debate more closely.
Secondly if you intend to give "simpler questions" you should at least learn to spell simple words like "foreign". Ok?
Thirdly, asking "Who would Jesus Assassinate?" is infantile.
We're talking about larger concepts like applying Biblical principles in a consistant and coherant manner.
I think what Robertson said was stupid. But I have yet to hear one solid argument as to why it is not Christian.
Um... "Thou shalt not kill"?
Before ragging on another poster's spelling mistakes, you may want to spell-check your post.

Oooooh, a Spelling Nazi, good...
"Thirdly, asking "Who would Jesus Assassinate?" is infantile"
I know you're fighting like hell to avoid answering that question, but why not give it a go. What would Jesus say about Assassinating ANYONE?
IF Jesus is the one who states Christian principle, then how can asking what his take on Assassination be infantile? And, conversely, if his take would be a specific admonition NOT to do it, then how does it make it RIGHT to do it, simply because you skipped back to an earlier chapter when it was considered OK?
"We're talking about larger concepts like applying Biblical principles in a consistant and coherant manner."
OK, Larger concepts like applying Religious Principles to concepts like Assassination (ie Murder).
How do you show horn Christian principles into Assassination?
How about this, and I mean it respectfully: as an ambassador for Christ and one who should be following The Great Commission Robertson should support the rule of law.
Whether we like it or not, Chavez was as far as I can tell, more or less elected legally. Assassinating an elected leader is not the same as assassinating a self-imposed tyrant (although both may be tyrants). Assassination has many negative implications.
If Robertson wants to be a foreign policy advisor that is one thing, and he should act accordingly. If he wants to save souls for Christ that is another thing; and advocating killing a duly elected although highly objectionably head of state will, in my opinion, turn off a large number of people.
I realize that true conversion requires the intervention of the Holy Spirit, but there must be desire or intent. If by his statement Robertson is loosing souls to salvation, do you think that is not Christian?
