The author also noted that James Smith, a former Ranger captain and father of Cpl. Jamie Smith -- who bled to death after he was shot in the leg during the battle, because he could not be evacuated &endash; returned a letter of condolence from President Clinton. In rejecting it, he sent a letter of his own, blaming Clinton for the Mogadishu debacle.

Also not in the movie was an after-action incident between Clinton and the parents of two Rangers -- MSgt. Gary Gordon, 33, and SFC Randy Shughart, 35 &endash; who were killed in action but posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for their actions.

McKenny said that family members were invited to the White House to receive the medals. Clinton reportedly invited the parents of Gordon and Shughart into the Oval Office for a private meeting.

When he did, "he stuck his hand out to shake the hands of the parents, but Randy Shughart's father refused to take Clinton's hand."

Then, McKenny said, "he looked Clinton in the face, told him he was responsible for his son's death, that it was for no purpose and that he wasn't fit to be president or commander in chief."

Smith, who had his left leg amputated after being wounded in Vietnam in the mid-60s, later said Clinton also didn't take responsibility for the decisions that left the Rangers without heavy armored support.

In a another incident, the author said that weeks later family members of many of the dead were called to Washington, D.C., to testify at congressional hearings into the debacle.

"When Clinton heard they were in town, he called them into his office for a meeting and told them that part of the reason they were dead was their own fault," McKenny said. "He said they may have been responsible for their own deaths because they were 'too aggressive' in Mogadishu."

One other incident that didn't make the movie -- or the American press, McKenny said -- happened after the wounded soldiers were brought back to Walter Reed Army Hospital outside Washington.

"Clinton was advised to go see them, but he didn't want to," McKenny said. "Somewhat reluctantly, he finally did go. When he got there, he offered to have his picture taken with each one of them. At least four turned him down, saying they wouldn't dishonor their dead friends or their uniform by having their pictures taken with him.

INTERVIEW Osama bin Laden (may 1998)   In the first part of this interview which occurred in May 1998, a little over two months before the U.S. embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania, Osama bin Laden answers questions posed to him by some of his followers at his mountaintop camp in southern Afghanistan. In the latter part of the interview, ABC reporter John Miller is asking the questions.   Describe the situation when your men took down the American forces in Somalia.   After our victory in Afghanistan and the defeat of the oppressors who had killed millions of Muslims, the legend about the invincibility of the superpowers vanished. Our boys no longer viewed America as a superpower. So, when they left Afghanistan, they went to Somalia and prepared themselves carefully for a long war. They had thought that the Americans were like the Russians, so they trained and prepared. They were stunned when they discovered how low was the morale of the American soldier. America had entered with 30,000 soldiers in addition to thousands of soldiers from different countries in the world. As I said, our boys were shocked by the low morale of the American soldier and they realized that the American soldier was just a paper tiger. He was unable to endure the strikes that were dealt to his army, so he fled, and America had to stop all its bragging and all that noise it was making in the press after the Gulf War in which it destroyed the infrastructure and the milk and dairy industry that was vital for the infants and the children and the civilians and blew up dams which were necessary for the crops people grew to feed their families. Proud of this destruction, America assumed the titles of world leader and master of the new world order. After a few blows, it forgot all about those titles and rushed out of Somalia in shame and disgrace, dragging the bodies of its soldiers. America stopped calling itself world leader and master of the new world order, and its politicians realized that those titles were too big for them and that they were unworthy of them. I was in Sudan when this happened. I was very happy to learn of that great defeat that America suffered, so was every Muslim....   The American people, by and large, do not know the name bin Laden, but they soon likely will. Do you have a message for the American people? I say to them that they have put themselves at the mercy of a disloyal government, and this is most evident in Clinton's administration....

I wouldn't recommend doing that. Getting over them as you say would only clear the way for the Clintons to regain the total control that they desire. Without it, they're a teensy weensy bit vulnerable. The longer they go without holding the highest office, the better the chance they are going to slip.

People just don't understand this idea of our military wanting to serve under President Bush. Those who served under the Clintoon watch certainly do. Commander in Chief (sticking my finger down my throat) Clinton could not have cared any less for our military. Today, our military *knows* the enormous care and respect that President Bush has for our military and their families. It's a totally different environment when the members of the military *trust* their CiC.

HWB sent our troops in on a humanitarian mission to feed the starving Somali children. That mission was somewhat successful until bill clinton came to power. He changed the mission and his statist flunkies set the new rules under which 18 Delta and Ranger troopers died.

If we are lucky, Abel Danger will shine a light on what clinton was and what his wife is.

I remember when Inhofe made a speech before congress pointing out these similar statistics...and it was pretty damning. What was sad was that even with all of these deployments under the guise of nation-building, Clinton got nothing resolved, and in many cases, aggravated the situation.

Along with the failure in Somalia, Bush and the US has already had to go back to Haiti, Iraq, Afghanistan...and who knows what's going to happen in the Balkans thanks to that half-assed job. Between the failures and appeasment in N. Korea, and double-dealings with China, Clinton's foreign policy was disaster we'll being paying for, for decades.

It's pretty sad...but what do you expect when the only succesful military operation on the man's resume was the siege at Waco. And even that was an unmitigated disaster.

GHWB sent troops to Somalia after the incessant whining of the media and Randal Robinson that we had to help ensure food distribution to the starving Somalis. That along with the nightly news showing the same starving child night after night forced Bush to mount a mission at the end of his term. I believe that aid workers on the ground had not requested military assistance as they had worked out deals with the warlords. Subsequently the US withdrew and the vaunted UN took over "guarding" the food distribution. X42 sent the Rangers back in when Adid mixed it up with the Pakis and the Pakis got their asses handed to them. The Rangers went in with orders to get Adid. The SecDef, a Former McNamara whiz kid from the JFK/LBJ era, wouldn't give the on the scene commander the tools he requested. Unfortunately, he didn't put his stars on the table but instead attempted to carryout his orders as best he could. The rest is history.
