Thanks for the pings... I was away since yesterday AM for Graduate School orientation.
Mark,
The DC Freepers are across the street from them every friday night counterprotesting the COde Pinkos. Look at the threads here and you will see the photos. Most of the Pinkos are men(Though, probably walking around with women's underwear).
Freepers outnumber Code Pinkos every time.
"Looks like this one is going to miss our kids in the Pensacola area this time,"
Don't bet on it! That high pressure system sitting over Louisiana isn't going anywhere for a couple days, and I afraid it's going to push Katrina a bit further WEST than current models are indicating. Stay tuned!
Sorry, Posted to wrong thread. Listening to Mark, and following hurricane.
ANy info on Vero Beach would be appreciated.
Again, SOrry for misdirected post.
My husband built a little movable roof for the generator so that it can sit out on the end of the deck, well away from the eaves of the house. It has its own precast concrete pad to stand on, and two of the "electrocution cords" (male/male) for the two circuits. We plug the cords into the two legs of the 220v current -- dangerous to linemen (and the house wiring), but we tag out the main circuit breaker (with a real red tag - courtesy of my old gig working for a hwy construction co.) before we do.
Sorry to hear that. I doubt your power is going to get restored before morning at the earliest. Not many linemen will get out there in 80 mph winds.
We were without power for three days with Charlie and 4 with Jeanne, Frances it was off two minutes at a time at least a dozen times. I gave up re-setting the Digital clocks.
Yikes.
Thanks...wow... going right over him.
"Sounds like your dogs have a lot more sense than you do!"
Why do you think most of us are on this thread? :-)
OK, OK, you busted me...lol. I know I had it just under 100 a couple of times, but I really wasn't trying to make good time... I was looking at the scenery... green and lush.
Oh No!!!!!!!
They have only been there since the first of April and it has been threat after threat.
My parents in Boca have already cleared their patio. They expect alot of rain, although since their development has excellent drainage, I expect that they will be OK.
We went without electricity for nearly a week during the "March Blizzard of '93", and actually the worst thing was that our water is from a private well, so we had none.
Fortunately we have a backup gas space heater (and a CO2 monitor).
Um, wrong window?
Goody. With Ivan and Cindy, our culvert flooded out and the crawlspace got a bath. With Cindy, it was 7 inches of rain in 2 hours. Ick.
Very good!
If you've got a well, you REALLY need a generator! Everybody on my parents' island chipped in for a nice one to sit in the well house.
Yes, Sorry, Caught it and apologized on # 464.
Sorry!
