Bless her heart, she probably aimed for center of mass but yanked the trigger a trifle.
Absolutely understandable, given the adrenaline coursing through her system.
(That's why you aim for center of mass.)
And I think this is the first homeowner-shoots-burglar story I've seen where the homeowner had an adequate caliber!

No. It was in Texas where the illegal aliens won a lawsuit against a guyI think I read that it happened in Arizona, but then I'm old and drool on my T-shirt so I could be mistaken.

Reading statements like that makes me glad I live in Texas.
No kidding! Here in Alabama he would be busy filing a suite against the perps family for the expenses involved in cleaning up the blood.
It is good to live in the South huh?
To: cpdiii
She did go for center of mass. The mass was his head.

burglary suspectWell now how do we know that?
Why not a rapist suspect? Or a potential murderer?
Who knows WHAT would have happened if she hadn't been able to defend herself???

Thanks for the ping. Good story with a happy ending!

Do you think they shouldn't even investigate? I'm not saying that charges should be filed if the story is true. But how often have we seen stories where the facts thought to be true change after . . . yes, investigation.

Having given my previous reply, and given the facts as presented, I forgot to mention "Nice shooting, lady!!"

For gun owners, they would probably make an exception...After all,gun owners are the most hated people in England...

a young burglar confronted her with a tire iron and she shot him with a handgun she keeps for protection. It proves the point that the 2nd Amendment was a good idea.

She must have been a pretty good shooter not to go for the center of mass. Odds are she was aiming center mass, both times. A .45 auto has a pretty powerful kick to it. I expended huge amounts of ammo in mine before I was able to accurately place my rounds where I wanted them to go. I practice frequently just to maintain that ability. I can tell when I haven't practiced in a while too, because the first few rounds are usually not too close to the point on target I was aiming for.

Add this yoot to the "child victims of gun violence" statistic.Sadly, you are right. Another bit of "proof" of gun violence against our babies. Sarah Brady and her anti Constitution buddies revel in these statistics.

You know, tar has a couple of meanings, i.e. I clumb the far tar to look for a far in the woods. (that's fire tower for those of you in Rio Linda)

Any day now his second cousin will sign on to tell us he was invited over and berate us for slandering him. Yeah, where is "necro-troll"? They haven't showed up yet to tell everyone that our making fun of this punk's death is just like killing him in front of his family members.
