Again... you choose to think what you will about my views without reading everything I have said. I am not suggesting such things were good. I am suggesting that we had a means to make a difference - even to "up the ante" in a way which did not mean the death of tens of 1000's of innocents.

Oh, ok. So you're an arm-chair quarterback, then. Good for you.

I would argue that we have made a huge difference already and had we not invaded Iraq and toppled Saddam's regime, 1000s of innocents would have died anyway (and already died). The only difference is that the 1000s of innocents would be American citizens on US soil, not Iraqis. We needed to make a bold move in the Middle East to make the Islamic fundamentalists understand that attacks on the US homeland would have drastic consequences for them. Saddam was a nakedly terrorist-supporting regime. We did well to destroy it.

And the cost in both American and Iraqi blood will be worth it if a free, democratic, non-terrorist-supporting Iraq is the final outcome. If we allow the 'hate-America-first' crowd to do to Iraq what they did in Vietnam, it will be to our eternal shame.

Saddam used WMD, poison gas against the Iraqi people and in the war with Iran. Where are they NOW? Those were NOT the WMD's we were all SOLD on. Am I wrong? I don't think so.

In my book... that is a great Way to behave. I wish more of you would take a chance and go to Iran... and see or yourself like Sean did. Like I did.

Questions for you:

1.) Do you think that Iran is attempting to build and acquire nuclear weapons?

2.) What is your opinion on a nuclear Iran?

3.) What, if any, actions should the US and Europe take to prevent the acquisition of nukes by Iran?

Were you asking those questions of Bill Clinton when he used the same intelligence as an excuse to bomb Iraq in 1998?

How many times are you going to post this?

Hey..... someone asked me to prove it... have I not done that? How about acknowledging that fact? [Bows in the applause from the folks here who recognize that fact].

It seems someone stepped on a nerve.

And I have not stepped on your nerve? Hah hah. Just look at you all. I'm a great little target for you all.

Do you work for, or with Sean Penn?

Oh how very funny.

I'm pretty transparent here. Unlike many... you can follow links to my web pages I have posted here and actually see who I really am. Probably a dumb thing to do... but that's one aspect of me that I will gladly acknowledge as my "dumbness factor". I'll stand up and be counted for the views I have shared here any day.

Typical liberal blathering. If you can't come up with an answer just insult people.

Now THAT is the pot calling the kettle black!

I "HOPE" that the iranian mulahs read this post.....

I am so excited that our double agent sean penn has been so accepted by the islamic community. Little do they know that he is our missionary in iran. I hope they don't find the Bibles he is smuggling in his luggage. I know if he is tortured he will deny it till the very end that he is a christian missionary. Who would have thought a kid from ridgemont high school would go to Iran and share the gospel...

Well....it was fun... but it is finally time for me to head out (at least for a while). In the meantime... let me repeat what I said in post #46

"I must admit... I think I've said everything I needed to say here... and everyone else has pretty much said everything they need to say.... I think we all get the point."

As far as I'm concerned, you've said absolutely nothing of substance. Not a single creative thought. Just mouthing the standard anti-America talking points.

I will give you points for being out front about your identity. But unless you can reveal your "secret plan," you are just another of the thousands of naysayers, second-guessers, 20/20 hindsighters who can only offer unconstructive negativity and defeatism.

I'm sure your visit to Iran was very interesting and insightful and all that, but if this was all that was required to fix international problems, this discussion wouldn't be happening. Simply going to Iran is an empty gesture, devoid of significance. And people like Penn are experts at this kind of BS.

I looked at your link...yep, you're pretty transparent and you have way too much time on your hands. . I don't think you need to stand up and be counted here. As far as I can see here, you only interfere and distract. I learned long ago that arguing with people like you is a waste of time, you get off on arguing and responding with your 'brilliant logic' and so-called evidence....You love to argue...why don't you go back over to DU and argue with them.. Bye now....

My point is... we had Saddam where we wanted him. Things were not perfect by any means...

Saddam was busy corrupting the very highest levels of the UN with bribery and kickbacks. It’s far from certain that the UN will survive the Oil For Food scandal, the biggest money and corruption scandal in history.

Saddam was busy bribing and corrupting politicians, journalists and corporations worldwide. Saddam was even able to buy the foreign policy of countries like France and Canada.

Ya, we had Saddam right where we wanted him. /S

Do you remember the troops and even the journalists in Iraq having and wearing gas masks and suits in case of attacks by poison gas WMD? Seems to me that we were sold on the idea that Saddam had poison gas WMD.

Saddam had WMD, Saddam used WMD, Saddam had been working for decades to acquire nuclear weapons.

So in the liberal mind, he didn't have any WMD.

"Give them a chance. Things ARE changing. Slowly yes... not to "Our" timetable maybe... but things will change... for the better."

It aint gonna change as long as they embrace the religion of Terrorism..ISLAM.

Unless they give it up, its just exchanging one level of Hell for another. Different politics, different demons, but they all stink.

That video was really intriguing. My family came to America from Lebanon/Syria in 1900, so I have a fascination with the Arabic culture.

I've spent some time in Ukraine. It was a fascinating experience too. I spent New Years Eve once with a retired officer in the Russian army; in a little fishing village off the coast of the Sea of Azov named Novoazovsk. I learned a lot about these people who were once my enemies, as they did me.

I would like to one day travel to an Arab outback and bond with the people there. God willing.

Peace is made in such ways.
