Freepers, over a year ago I posted some e-mails from a dear friend of mine (Dan) who is in Iraq helping to rebuild it. He has been able to come home about every six months or so to see his family. When he does he tells us how grateful the Iraqi's are for our help.

The above is an e-mail that was sent to Dan letting him know how much they appreciate him and the Americans help. Dan then forwarded it to his wife to put in their keepsakes and she in turn has forwarded to others. That is how I came by it.

I had said I would keep you updated on how things were going for him. I am sorry it has been so long since my last thread.

The below link is what I posted before for those who may have missed it.

Thanks for sharing .... we would never know of such things as our liberal media keeps such good news buried.

Those 5,000 were over a year ago when he first went to Iraq. He has since been on two other assignments in different places in Iraq and I am not sure how many he has working under him now.

He will be coming home in a couple weeks for some rest and relaxation. He usually has a couple of weeks here and then he will be going back if everything is OK.

It may turn out to be a very difficult time at home this time, as his father-in-law is slowly dieing of liver cancer. He has a strong bond to his father-in-law and since he was last home his father-in-law has lost LOTS of weight and does not look like when he left.

Thanks for your offer of help with goodies, but I think the best help would just be prayers for the family and that Dan will remain safe as long as he is in Iraq.
