So what part of "I strongly disagree with the President's policies on the border" didn't you understand?
We are not talking about the mere politics of supporting or opposing Bush's (wrongheaded) policies on immigration. We are talking about calling for the impeachment of the President of the United States during a time of war, with the full knowledge of what the liberal media will do with such a declaration. Buchanan apparently simply doesn't care, as long as he gets the media attention he craves.
Good luck trying to brand me as a RINO, though. (I got a good laugh out of that one.)

"But Buchananites found out that by voting for the lesser of two evils in the last election, they got evil."
I think it was more the choice between "Dumb and dumber", with the public choosing the lesser of two idiots cause they'd figure he'd do less damage. Which is the really sad state of politics these days. When both candidates are considered worthless. We'll just have to hope some common sense is shown in 2008, assuming Bush doesn't botch things up enough to get the House and/or Senate turned over to Dem control, or we get nuked by a terrorist. So far the only Republican of any real worth that I could see as the next President would be US Rep. Duncan Hunter. With Tom Tancredo put in charge of Homeland Security.
What is it with you Buchananites? Have you even read what I said about the President's policies on illegal immigration?
Buchanan's idiotic comments on impeaching the president are what I'm talking about. Can't you understand that? He's nothing more than a media whore, perfectly willing to say outrageous things (whether it be about WWII or impeaching Bush) in exchange for media coverage. Apparently, he's got a fair amount of people on FR who are just willing to nod in agreement with everything he says.
I used to like Pat Buchanan but have to say now that he talks like someone that is 4 cents short of a dime.
"We are talking about calling for the impeachment of the President of the United States during a time of war, with the full knowledge of what the liberal media will do with such a declaration."
They won't do squat with such a declaration because they were hand-in-hand with the RINO Repub leadership in making sure than Buchanan was as thouroughly demonized as possible. Bush's own stupidity will damage him more than anything Pat could possibly do.
"Buchanan apparently simply doesn't care, as long as he gets the media attention he craves."
The only thing Buchanan craves is saving this nation from the idiotic stupidity of free trade and open borders policies.
..and we opened the floodgates that held back the Third World. 10 million illegal aliens?
Bingo! That is exactly where a person should start to "Google", to begin to find the origins of the mess we are in. The Immigration Act of 1965 needs to be amended. Severely.
before that. They actually use the 13 colony circle as a symbol to signify that too.
If you look at posts 155, 157 and 161, you'll see that I strongly disagree with the President's policies on Illegal Immigration.
I brought up Pat's comments on WWII in response to a post in which the writer indicated that the Buchananites voted for Bush as the lesser of two evils and found that they'd voted for evil, or something to that effect.
Yeah. PJB's leading the group off the cliff.
Bush, on the other hand, is leading the BushBots by the nose--and turning the Southwest into Mexifornia.
PS: How's your nose feel?
"This issue is not going to split or weaken the Rep vote. Is the thinking that if one does not agree with the President on certain issues, the next logical step is to remove all support?!!?"
When you see him slowly transforming into a Democrat, what's the point of continuing to support him? I'll leave my support, and hopes, for a true conservative like Duncan Hunter in 2008.
I think calling for Bush's impeachment over the immigration issue is a great idea, and the best I have heard so far for getting his attention. He can either deal with the problem, or he can get the heck out of the way. Hopefully, whomever replaces him will take the problem seriously, even if its just to avoid the same fate.
If Bush gets his amnesty thing, there's no way I will support the republican party during an election. I only voted for Bush this last time because I figure he was the lesser of two evils. I'm not going that route anymore.
I don't see much difference between the republican and democratic parties. They both lie through thier teeth to get elected and then its four more years of the same old crap of the pot calling the kettle black.
Both parties foster corruption and deceit, and if either had any integrity whatsoever, they would expose the corruption in thier own parties and dealings rather than wait for the opposing party to do it for them.
I don't give a darn what the liberal media does, if Bush wants to keep his job, he better get to work, war-time or not.
Once again Pat hits a home run. You cannot defend Bush on the border issue, the most IMPORTANT issue facing this country. The border, a push for a north American alliance with Mexico and Canada, uncontrolled spending, and a questionable war. But we did get a paltry tax cut!
