We have plans to go both days (husband signed up to do concessions to help out MWR - Morale, Welfare, Recreation and I was looking at expanding my Avon customer base) I'll keep an eye on the threads and I'd love to meet some fellow Maine Freepers as we let the world know what this person (I can't call her a woman, she doesn't deserve that title) and her ilk are capable of.
I am sickened that they are closing the base. I love the fact that it is there.
We loved being out in Brunswick. We stayed at a house on Middle Bay.
Loved the town, and shopping at Hannafords.
One of our favorite things to do while staying at the home was watching the P-3s and C-130s making their touch and go's. The house was right on the glide path.
You must get over to the Chamberlain Museum, if you haven't already. (Joshua Chamberlain - Civil War hero.) It's right next to Bowdoin College, on Maine Street.
Certainly we went to Fatboy's and Estees.
We heard that people would call the base and complain about the noise of the airplanes, and the base would respond, "That's the sound of Freedom." Love it.
We took trips to Booth Bay Harbor, and Popham State Park.
I miss that place already.
In regards to Sheehan... she's completely nuts.
Thank you and your husband for your service to this country.
