I saw that video....as soon as something fell near him.....he ran for the truck like there was no wind at all.

Harrigan disappointed me.

If G, Bush did not have a country to run, I bet he would be one of the first with a tow sack and a shovel.

They just showed that heartbreaking story again with the poor man that had to let go of his wife and she most likely drowned. This is such a horrible human tragedy.

Mike Cafferty is a stooge. Even he couldn't navigate around that fact.

If you were Cindy S. I'd say you were jealous and didn't want to share the spotlight, but since your are not..that I know of..I say imagine your home being washed away..imagine your loved ones floating...

Since your homepage lists you as a Texan I would imagine you have seen a few weather disasters.

If so, try to remember. If not try to click on threads that are more to your liking. Obviously, you are not happy here. No one is begging you to stay and no one has hog tied you to stay.

If you do decide to stay, be aware of some negative feedback.

Your choice...ain't that great!! We all have choices.

I also read threads bottom up. I often do that with magazines too.

I have a suspicion it may have something to do with being left-handed.

Somewhere around 76,000 can fit in the Superdome for a game. Of course, you're not at a game for days, trying to find a place to sleep. However, it does open up the field for occupancy. Still not a great place to be right now.

I thought the field was under water... is that not so?

wonder why no one in FEMA is putting something like that in motion?

We don't know if they are or not. In any event, you can't just decide to pack up a cruise ship and set sail at the drop of the hat. It'd take days to get a ship stocked, crewed, and ready to go.

... and now they have to evacuate the Superdome?

I'm sure the idea was that the Dome was only temporary quarters, to save lives. It appears to have served that purpose.

So we shouldn't be concerned about their short-term needs?

Totally, inexcusably uncalled for. We all have a life, and have seen a good amount of the world. The loss of life, pain and anguish being felt by fellow Americans at this time is hard to comprehend.

Trust me, you are wrong. Metropolitan New Orleans is 1.4 million people, we did not lose thousands of people in the Hurricane and there is flooding but 90% of the houses/building that are flooded can be used again with minor to moderate repairs. Once the water is gone in the next week or so, people will come back, start fixing things up and rebuild.

I would regard that figure as unconfirmed. I believe the capacity of the Superdome is 72,000.

That would be seating capacity. They could fit many more with the field and other areas, but it would still be hellish.

Why do you think the river levies are flooding too? I've not heard that anywhere else?

I don't know about Chavez, but the Iran offer was from a satirical article I posted. There is no offer from Iran.

Why are you on this thread, if this crisis is getting in the way of your TV watching, and life?

Besides the existing flooding, Katrina has been busily dumping rain upstream from NO, which is going to find its way downsream"

Currently 12 Indiana counties from the Indianapolis viewing area, perhaps 1/4 of the total, are under flood warnings.

On the bright side, I have seen no credible reports of Mississippi River levees being breached. Keep watching...the threat won't pass until the flood crest passes into the Gulf and the river returns to normal levels, several days at least.
