Hostage Situation in New Orleans

Just a heads up, armed looters have taken over one of the medical centers in New Orleans where the injured people were being sent. They are holding the entire staff of the hospital hostage and firing at the national guard. An FBI SWAT team has just been flown in (from Baton Rouge I believe) and they are just now getting situated. I'm not sure of any online scanners that are up monitoring the state trs. That is where alot of traffic is going on at.
LSP Troop B is requesting immediate backup. Troopers, riot squad, and national guard. He said the crowd is triple the size it was earlier and they are about to be overrun.
The location is 610 and eleshafield(spelling?).
Should I make another thread that has events going on down there? Lots of stuff has gone on and half of it never makes it on the news or anything.
What's your point? Are you implying that the poor, desitute traumatised flood victim doesn't actually exist, because these people are getting all the attention?
Isn't it obvious that there should be no exception?
Make one exception and it gets stretched.
You can't mount rescue operations, clean up and rebuild if lawlessness is prevalent.
There's no gray area here. These buttheads should be put down hard.
I would probably wait a little to make sure this story isn't a work of fiction.

I forget who said "There by the Grace of God go I", but folks usually think it refers to being lucky. Actually the guy said it as he watched a murderer going up to be hanged. Meaning that if not for the Grace of God, he (as a "man") would have performed similar savage acts.
Not to say that athesist's are murderers obviously, but I know that MY Christian beliefs temper my more base human side.
Well how traumatised can they be if they're looting? The real trauma is at places like the Superdome with no food,water,a/c,etc.
I think they have already cleaned those out (the ones they could get to). I can't wait to hear that these thugs have been shot, hung, drowned or otherwise done away with.
Martial law absolutely has its place. I coulda tol'em that NO would go crazy.
Maybe the medical staff can buy them off and sedate them with oxycontin. Then when they're really "feeling no pain", tell them that a Coast Guard chopper is here to take them to South Padre Island for a month's vacation. Just put down your weapons and board the chopper please.

Yes. It's been pretty pathetic. Looters: pictures of happy, smiling, clean, well-fed, healthy, uninjured people walking out of stores strong enough to carry out their armloads of booty with a "I've just won the lottery" look on their faces and all we've been hearing is how none of us know how we'd react in this situation and they're hungry and thirsty. You can't eat or drink the stuff they're stealing and they have to be taking it somewhere so they're not homeless. Very aggre.vating
