Democrats blaming their failure in New Orleans on Bush
Various | September 1, 2005 | nwrep

Louisiana has been one of the most reliably Democratic states in the Union. For generations, a Republican could not get elected a dog catcher in Louisiana. The first Republican Senator since reconstruction was just only elected in 2004. The parish in which the devastated city of New Orleans is located, Orleans Parish, voted 77% for John Kerry in 2004. Why then are Democrats suddenly turning and pointing the finger of blame at Republicans?

New Orleans has been known to be a disaster waiting to happen for decades. The city was founded 283 years before George W. Bush took the oath of office in 2001. Its susceptibility has been well documented through the ages. In fact, in some of the more catastrophic scenarios, unbroken levees, if they managed to withstand the force of water against them, would have contained the water after flooding, turning the city into a toxic bowl. The present situation seems less of a danger, despite the widespread calamity.

Having known all this, it is a mystery why the city's Democratic politicians made repairing the levees an issue shortly after President Bush took office, after apparently ignoring it for generations before that. Did the levees suddenly need repairing in 2001? Or is it that the incompetence of the local Democratic officials has finally overflowed in the wake of this disaster?

It is also obvious that the looting that has gone on has been perpetrated by an overwhelmingly Decmoratic crowd, judging by the racial, socio-economic and geographic distribution of the criminals so vividly captured on TV. In fact, I would venture to state, based on my abilities of observation, analysis and deduction, that nearly every one of the rapists, murderers, thieves and petty criminals on woeful display is a proud member of the Democratic voting block.

Why also is it that such horrible reports of mayhem and anarchy are not flowing from Biloxi, the site of far worse devastation than New Orleans? Could it be because Biloxi, which lies in Harrison county, Mississippi, voted 62% for President Bush, and is a Republican county? Could the traditional values practiced by Republicans have prevented them from turning into animals?

Given the preceeding, it is time that the pathetic and incompetent Democratic politicians of New Orleans quit blaming our President and his administration for their ingrained and systemic failure, and concentrate on the task at hand to aid the rescue effort.

The country is helping New Orleans. Its the whining, moaning, bitching and complaining liberals who are standing in the way of doing something to help the city.

It is their standard modus operandi now. Since they past the point-of-no-return in terms of uselessness and irrelevancy, all they can do is make trouble and obstruct. And the morons in the media are singing their song....

That all the dimocRATS know how to do is complain and blame the nearest Republican for their problems. They have no course of action or ideas themselves. This has unfortunately been born out by the by the lack of leadership displayed in the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana. Just look what Rudy Giuliano did in New York for comparison.

Everything is Bush's fault. Bush caused this hurricane with his environmental policy and he directed it to his New Orleans to punish them for not voting for him! </sarcasm

I posted lat night that the real blame lays with the Democrats going back for at least 40 years when they were running the show and could have voted all the money needed to build the levee system needed. Yes I think the blame can be laid at the feet of Lyndon Johnson.

Let's cheer for the awe inspiring folks who are risking their own lives and limbs to pluck the survivors out of the flood ravaged zones one by one, and sometimes two by two. We will have plenty of time to scream for a tribunal later.

Priority #1 now, is to save lives. Let's holler later about how it would have been so much easier before the storm, before the flood.

The Dems have an incredible first strike capability for which the Pubbies have yet to come up with an answer. The attacks on Bush were for no other reason but to deflect attention away from their 30 year obstruction of offshore drilling and refinery construction. The Dems cannot afford for there to be a reasoned public debate on energy policy, so they deflect.

Rush said today that it's amazing how the Democrats can get tons of busses on election day, but not a single bus on evacuation day.
