Well I am giving the truth a little help. Just emailed the bus picture to every reporter and editor with a public email address, and political related "beat", at the Washington Post. Asking them, politely, why I had see no coverage of this in THEIR paper. :-} God I love Free Republic!

Another question is, why would anyone STAY if they had transportation! I guess looting has a strong attraction to a lot of the former city of New Orleans residents.

A few possible reasons I can come up with off the top of my head...
1.Lack of ability to imagine the future
2.Didn't believe it would hit or be as bad as it was
3.Was afraid their home/business would be looted
4.Waiting for opportunity to loot
5.Some combination of the above
I'm sure there are other reasons as well. It always pays to remember, not everyone thinks like you or I.

Haha, after last year (my first year in hurricane country) just losing power for a couple of days seems like no big deal! I WAS glad I bought a small battery operated fan tho! Seems like there are more S. FL Freepers than I thought!

I counted the busess in that picture. I got up to around 130 before those in the back (top) of pic became blurred into each other. So I estimated around 150. If you could fit 70 people on each bus, that's 10,500 people. That's a huge number that could have be evacuated and gotten out of the way. How many more vehicles were turned into useless refuse because of shortsightedness?

Senator Mary L. did an interview last night with one of the msm, (can't remember which one, cbs nbc abc, but it was one of them). I can't even remember what she was saying because I was screaming at the television telling her to shut her filty mug. I was so angry that my dog wanted out because I was scaring him with my yelling! Good thing I didn't have any firearm at hands reach or I'd have blown up the t.v.

listen STOOOPID...then minute President Bush told NOLA to EVACUATE(and YOU didn't) YOU the MAYOR should of made sure that ALL the buses were FULL OF FUEL but you didn't, then when the Governor said to leave(and YOU didn't) YOU should of had them all prepositioned and facing OUT of the city(but YOU didn't) so when YOU FINALLY knew YOU screwed up... make the call for them to load up and head out. drive to the County/State FairGrounds / RaceTracks to the north/west and set up TENT CITY!!! but YOU didn't...
