New Orleans Mayor Suggests CIA May Take Him Out Over His Criticism of Federal Efforts (CNN)
CNN TV ^ | 3 August 2005 | AmericanInTokyo

Posted on 09/03/2005 2:59:43 PM PDT by AmericanInTokyo

On CNN just now. New Orleans Mayor Nagin, apparantly stressed out, in interview segment, said he has been yelling at the President and the Governor, and for all he knows, the "CIA could wipe me out". (Paraphrase) Just now.

Turning into a strange, macabre show now. Blame continues, spiraling out of control. Sad. It even raised CNN's eyebrows a bit.(5:57 p.m. Eastern/4:57 p.m. Central)

Maybe he's (she?) making the kool aid from the water in the city.

That makes three Katrina-related meltdowns on TV: Shepard Smith, a CNN reporter (Anderson Cooper?), and now Mr. Mayor.

I expect my incredulity index to be adjusted as the heat rises for the mayor, and possibly the governor.

I think Nagin needs security to watch over him for his own good. Take away any sharp objects from him, belts, neck ties, pills... you catch my drift.

I remember the first big crisis in my engineering career. I stayed up for three days and finally somebody more senior told me to go get some sleep "or else."

The mayor is getting bleary - now sometimes that makes you say things you don' mean but sometimes you say what is really on your mind.

I don't always do so, but try to adhere to the 'walk a mile in one's moccasins before criticism' rule.

Still, this is serious business--what the mayor said, tired or joking or not--and if the man cannot keep a head on his shoulders at this time, or is just going to blame his way out of this problem, he really needs to step aside, seriously. For his mental health and the health and safety of the residents he has been given entrusted charge over. What's the law of succession in New Orleans?

I've been saying that that man needs a hit. Not to be "hit".

The CIA will ' take him out ' ?? Thats preposterous...

everyone knows the aliens will do it.

The alien in charge of it all is Karl Rove.

Wow, talk about opening your mouth and putting both feet in. This sounds like something out of the Jackson Sharpton playbook. Completely looney...

Uh, Mr. Nagin. You are not important, so nobody is going to mark you.
