Wow--Paglia nails it! Thanks for the post. I just watched Sean Penn on CNN talking about how no-one is rescuing all those poor people stuck in their houses--like he was yesterday. Now that is PATHETIC! CNN has lost all pretense of being in the least bit objective. That guy Cafferty played the race-card so fast--and the whole network has stacked the deck, and the reporting, against Bush from the get go!
If he wants to continue to climb the ladder of success he BETTER hate anything GOP.
That is so true. Could I use it?
Really? Where did you hear that? Thatls cool.
Sadly, I suspect you are correct. if not tomorrow, certainly later someone will 'spin' the presence of the military in N.O. as racism.
Reading CNN transcripts is an eye-opener. Their guests, their anchors, their talking head experts, their phone in politicians, they're all out to nail Bush. No one else can get a CNN word in edgewise.
Oh, God, Ithaca! NY State's City of Evil. No surprise there.
Just curious - what is "no surprise"?
It's no surprise that someone from Ithaca, probably the biggest liberal city around here would write something stupid like this.
They're running out of excuses to blame Bush.
I thought that might be what you had in mind. Let me begin by letting you know that I'm the author of the article. Governsleastgovernsbest = Finkelstein.
Next, if you'll go back and read the article carefully, you'll see that far from agreeing with what the Today Show did, I was very critical of it.
Start with the headline: "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished." In other words, putting the additional troops into New Orleans was a good deed, but it was being punished by the liberal media.
Next, check out my conclusion: that the MSM is being unfair to W because their approach is "damned if you do, damned and you don't."
I think this is a case of blaming the messenger on your part.
For years, I've made a specialty of reporting on liberal bias at the Today show. I do it for the very purpose of criticizing and exposing that bias. If you continue to read these threads, or go back and read some past ones, you'll see what I mean.
So I won't take offense at your 'stupid' comment, but do hope you will consider more carefully in the future before letting fly with such comments.
There will be no TV today unless to watch a movie or the Food Network.
Any clue whether Weldon will bring forth his witnesses tomorrow as promised?
Not so fast. Have you checked the listings for The Food Network?
11 AM: Famine in New Orleans - Failures of the Bush Administration ;-)
Funny....I thought it was just the DUers who were getting paranoid yesterday that the operation was being militarized, even moaning that the "soldiers" were using terms like: mission, theatre of operations, and CHOPPERS.
Guess the DUers would have preferred that we air-dropped grief counselors into New Orleans to deal with armed gangs of rapists and murderers.
If Bush walked across Lake Ponchatrain, they would say, "See, He Can't Swim."
I wonder what Emeril's thoughts are on this?
"Today on Emeril Live, six delicious recipes for putrified river rat."
BAM!
I can't imagine Weldon will move on the Able Danger hearings this week. Certainly not before the Roberts Hearing begins, and I think the start of that has been postponed until after the funeral, which is on Wednesday. But I'm not double checking anything....I won't veg out on the food channel...it's old movie time for me.
