I take it you don't watch any TV at all.

FOX only for at least 10 hours the last few days. The newtork people are clueless. They don't know the first thing about the military or large-scale logistics and are criticizing someone for getting the job done in short order.

CNN really played it's hand during their coverge of this event. If anyone had any doubts concerning media bias, there's no doubt now. From the git go, nothing but Bush -bashing, left-leaning, commie reporting.

Ted Koppel's grilling of Michael Brown of FEMA last night reached a new low TV broadcasting when Ted said something to the effect of, "How could you not know what was happening at the Super Dome? Don't you watch television?"

My response to Ted would have been, " I sure do Ted. I saw television crew after television crew, day after day, make there way to the Super Dome to report on the people's plight. But, you know what Ted, I didn't see a single TV person, or anyone with them bring in any supplies. I didn't see a single TV person do anything about the suffering.

I didn't see a single TV person offer one person a drink of water. Why is that Ted? Don't they watch television? Didn't they know they were heading into an area that needed water and food? It seems that television reporting people have no sense of community. How else could you explain standing by and reporting on a problem without attempting to help?"

The media from day one has politicized this tragedy with George W. Bush as their fall guy. They desperately need to divert attention away from the corrupt political machinery that runs Louisiana and the Democrat party in general.

"At 70 people per bus that is 28,000 people per round trip that could have been taken out of the storm surge area in the 48 hours prior the Katrina striking"

We can play with numbers and consider what might have been, but has anyone figured out where the tens of thousands of people were to be sheltered after the buses hauled them to high ground.

I didn't see that interview but can imagine Koppel's "superior attitude" to everyone around him. You're right about the press. They could have helped in many places where they were only there to "politicize". The price they should have to pay to get such stories should be to have to bring people out of there with them. One thing about Geraldo...he was actually helping people. He "paid" to get the story.

I thank God for men like Lt. Gen. Honore. His concern for people, as well as his clarity, comes through loud and clear.

He's asking the MSM to stop making things worse. He's right. People all over this nation, not yet knowing about the fate of their loved ones in LA and MS, are hearing the MSM Hype; and it's got to be making them hysterical; crazed with anguish, grief, and worry.

Pearl handled pistol? They're ivory. Only a pimp from a New Orleans whorehouse would have a pearl handled pistol.

"LSU has the talent to go head to head with anyone in the country, including USC."

My sympathies go out to all those affected in Louisiana, but let's not go overboard.

Don't like Arizona State's ranking, eh?

OK, I'll defend it (I did the computer analysis). The initial rankings are based on performance of a team over the prior 4 years (why 4? why not.). That just means that ASU gets a lower starting place than programs that have been more consistent. After the 4th week of games, the initial preseason numbers are no longer counted and only the current season counts.

The alternative would be to not use a preseason formula and instead just use this season's numbers. In which case, after week 1, Missouri, Minnesota and USC would be tied for number 1 - which is a more ridiculous proposition than ASU at 44 (after beating Temple this weekend).

Things start making more sense after about a month. Last year, ASU finished at 14 in my computer ranking system (could have been 8 if not for blowing that game to Arizona).
