Ex-president Bill Clinton endorsed his wife's call for a Katrina Commission on Monday, to probe what he called "failures" by Bush administration to respond quickly to the New Orleans flood crisis.
"Our government failed those people in the beginning, and I take it now there is no dispute about it," Clinton told CNN.
"One hundred percent of the people recognize that -- that it was a failure," he claimed.
On Sunday Hillary Clinton called for the creation of a Katrina Commission, while insisting that the federal response to the hurricane efforts has been inadequate.
Mr. Clinton endorsed his wife's suggestion, and hinted that some "personnel decisions" in the Bush administration needed to be reviewed.
"In a few weeks we should have some sort of a Katrina Commission," he told CNN. "It should be bi-partisan, non-partisan, whatever. And we ought to really look at this as I always tried to: What is the best structure and what are the best personnel decisions you could make."
Returning to the allegations that the rescue effort was bungled, Clinton said, "I personally believe there should be a serious analysis of it. I have my own ideas about what caused it."
Lest anyone miss the point, Clinton repeated midway through his interview: "Yes, they were failed in the beginning by their nation. But we don't want to fail them a second time."

What a shameless bum this guy is. He gets together with Bush Sr., then pulls this crap.
"100% of the people" --- please!

What a shameless bum this guy is. He gets together with Bush Sr., then pulls this crap. Pretty soon, he will have Bush Sr. saying this kind of crap.
I swear to the Lord above that our world is completely flipped on it's head. I read the abundant list of failures on the part of the Governor and the Mayor of New Orleans, which was hard to believe, but true none the less.
Meanwhile the "SinkMeister" is blaming it on Bush. Figgers.

And let's probe a few other things while we're at it, Bubba. Like where federal money to NO and LA has been going, what it's been used for. Like James Lee Witt's contract from Blanco while he was giving her advice on how to avoid a federal takeover.
I say we give Bubba what he wants. Not just not the way he wants it.

Isn't there a name for a person who continuously inflicts pain upon himself, referring to W. Masochist, that's it. Not that I think a whole lot better of 41.

Remember that he is running for secretary-general of the UN. He's willing to go to any lengths, and truth has never gotten in his way, to get the results he wants.

Mr. Clinton endorsed his wife's suggestion, and hinted that some "personnel decisions" in the Bush administration needed to be reviewed. How about "reviewing" Clinton's taking part in any of these issues anymore?

Of course he does. His wife already called for a commission, and he doesn't want any more ashtrays thrown at him.

Oh, there are a lot of things that need a good probe. How the pumps and levees were maintained, where the money for those went. Blanco's and Nagin's malfeasance. Why FEMA didn't know that it was dealing with idiots and act accordingly. No offense to Brown and Chertoff, but those guys should've known that the voters in LA had screwed themselves silly early on.
Let's investigate it all.

And we ought to really look at this as I always tried to: What is the best structure and what are the best personnel decisions you could make." Only Clinton could turn such a tragedy to benefit himself...I remember one of his "best" structure decision in regards to the war in Balkans and ordering bombing of Serbians to smithereens.

An investigation can't come soon enough...... if it is an honest one, not like the abysmal coverup like 9/11.

My biggest gripe is with the mayor and other local officials who made little or no effort to get the elderly, etc. out with all those unused buses!!!

The big lie rolls on, and like a snowball, gets bigger and bigger. As a sociopath, Bill sees nothing wrong with lying if it serves his interests. The indelicate timing of his lie doesn't even occur to him...working with Bush senior to raise funds, etc.. (Think about Ron Brown's funeral and his laughter quickly covered up when he saw the cameras.) He's nuts. Hill has no mental excuse since she's simply evil.
