CA Assembly passes driver's licenses for illegal aliens (Gil Cedillo's SB-60)
CA Assembly ^ | 9/2/05 | CA Assembly

Posted on 09/06/2005 9:46:39 AM PDT by lonewacko_dot_com

On Friday the California Assembly voted 43-31 to approve SB60, state Sen. Gil Cedillo's bill that would give driver's licenses to illegal aliens.

I believe this now goes to Arnold Schwarzenegger for his signature. He has said he would veto driver's license bills before the federal government has released their guidelines for implementing the REAL ID Act, but it's always good to make sure.

Please call, FAX, or email Schwarzenegger and demand that he veto this bill:

Phone: 916-445-2841 FAX: 916-445-4633 email form: govmail.ca.gov

Governor Schwarzenegger's telephone line is busy (no surprise there!) so I've sent an email to him strongly requesting he veto SB60.

I called my local legislator last Friday and objected and was told that the CA Republican Party had urged all members to vote against it, and I see that they did (from the roll call link) -- a good thing but it also points out the travesty that the state now endures under the Democrat majority in our legislature...just read those names.

This legislation rewards criminal behavior. It is a shortterm effort to profit from rewarding illegal behavior and the people who voted for it do NOT deserve to be in our state legislature, do NOT deserve to maintain elected office here or anywhere.

Every single one of them SHOULD be written to by citizens nationwide and chastised for their dastardly, disrespectful and criminally-commisserating cheat vote in "passing" SB60.

The University of CA has been lobbying and lecturing (!) and otherwise leaning heavily on public opinion to pass SB60 so more indication of just where your tax dollars go in CA...to fund the DNC and liberal politics to include appeasing for illegal behavior.

An employee of University of CA, also who is a member of AZTLAN -- a Mexican racist organization that denigrates U.S. immigration laws -- using your tax dollars...

Instead of deporting criminals, they get drivers license. Wacky!

I don't know a single person who supports this bill, not one.

"For the life of me I'll never understand what runs through the minds of these California Liberals."

Emotionally, guilt.

Monetarily, the transportation industry. Big money to put illegals in the drivers seats, to depress work.king people's wage bargaining power. Trucking, hauling, etc. will eventually be poverty-level jobs.

To the free marketers, drivers licenses are an unfair trade barrier, as are borders.

I really need to get out of this state. I have had it up to my eyeballs.

You and me both.

How can the illegals get a driver's license without proof of insurance? How can they get insurance without a proof of income? How can they get a job if they are illegal? This is nuts!

They probably did. They can only take so much outrage from voters and then they need a coffee break.

One Bill Gil is what we call him out here.

Last week the senate voted against the constitution for gay marriage when 80% of Californians said no.

We have no representation in our government out here.

We faxed 50 different faxes from neighbors along with a copy of all signatures we collected a while back. that was one of the primary reason he got elected. He (&*&$#@* better veto the bill. Or he's going to be hearing est la vista (sp) . These people won't get insurance, they will only get insurance to obtain license then cancel. Of course Los angeles county has special rates for LA county which discriminates against everyone else in the state.

texas here we come

I just called one of his regional offices and they said that it was probably a case of sites and numbers being "overwhelmed" (a lot of people all trying at once to fax, call, email).

You can register a numerical, non-personal opinion vote on the 916-445-2841 (Sacramento/Capitol) number...they'll ask if you want to register an opinion on legislation, press (#) and then offer you the option to register a yes/no opinion on both SB60 (drivers licenses/illegalaliens) and SB849 (called "gender neutral marriage bill" of all things).

I did that and then I also wrote an email...
governor@govmail.ca.gov

and I called one of the regional offices and shared my opinions with them.

The San Diego office is really well staffed, for a suggestion here. You/anyone can find the regional office numbers (and addresses) at:

http://www.governor.ca.gov/state/govsite/gov_homepage.jsp

See "Contact the Governor" link...

Senators/ Congressman from non- border states who do not have to pander to the illegal alien lobby really have to step up. This affects everyone's security, not just the People's Republic of California.

No, the regional office I just spoke with spent a lot of time with me, listened to my opinions and interacted with everything I said, AND assured me my opinion was being sent to the Governor.

So, try any one of the regional offices for the Governor (I'd avoid the L.A. office, just because it's L.A.) and vocalize your opinion that way, plus write an email and call the 916-445-2841 Capitol number and use the numerical options relative to SB60 (and SB 848 while you're at it although you may have to call twice as I did to lodge an opinion about both, also as I did).

I wanted to add here that everyone, EVERYone, I've spoken with who is affiliated with Governor Schwarzenegger's Administration are always, ALWAYS, very cordial, sincere, interested and available to listen. No coffee-breaker, party types among them, in my experience.

That legislation is called "SB849" and is titled (by Democrats, just to be clear) the "Gender Neutral Marriage Bill."

It is ALSO up for veto by Governor Schwarzenegger as is SB60 (D.L. for illegal aliens) and BOTH bills were introduced by Democrats in the state assembly nearly devoid of publicity, and against voter repeated opinion, such that they have truly tried to hijack the issues and get them passed quite like the little, most foul liberals that they are.

Please call about both bills and encourage Governor Schwarzenegger to veto both: SB60 and SB849.

He does that, he'll get re-elected, I'm sure. He doesn't, he's not going to get another term.

One bill Gil strikes again. If Arnold doesn't veto this, he's sunk. Called AND e-mailed.
