The following commentary says it all . . .

CRUCIFYING GEORGE W.
September 6th, 2005
James Lewis

It is a painful thing to see a good and decent man slandered and abused. George W. Bush has been crucified in the media for five years, day after day. This week, after the unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe of New Orleans, the media mob is screaming louder than ever. It is a gruesome thing to watch, made worse because we can see the impact on him as a person.

Unlike Ronald Reagan, who could turn away a hostile question with a light-hearted joke, Bush is a man who genuinely wants to be liked and yes, even trusted by his opponents. He has done everything in his power to change the tone of national politics, and at every turn he has been greeted with vicious personal slander. It obviously hurts. Not a glib speaker, it must be agonizing for him to face a baying mob of media types who hate him and everything he stands for. Anything he says will be turned against him. He can only take the slings and arrows, without responding in kind, and quietly go back to work.

It is like a crucifixion.

It's one of the saddest things I've witnessed in my life.

Thanks again for the ping DrDeb.

I have always believed that President Reagan enjoyed the "fight" in politics. President Bush does not. He is a consensus builder by nature. But the fight was thrust upon him, and because he is a man of character, he has risen to the challenge.

Someday, they will both be considered as great Presidents. But for different reasons.

You know what..... When history is written about this President, (and it will begin before he even leaves office) His detractors will be shown as petty partisans, and it will also be said that he played a large part in bringing down the "Old Media" because he let the new media fiercely defend him.

George W. Bush is not a person who wants short term gains or gratification, he sets his goals very big and into the future. George W. Bush knows the truth and also knows the truth wins in the end. For Bill Clinton, the truth will deny him a place of hon or among the greatest Presidents. George W. Bush is far above the malcontents we know as his detractors.

We are truly blessed to have him leading us in the most trying times in our Nations history since Abraham Lincoln, and like Lincoln, President Bush will lead us through this storm...

"An Angel still rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm"

God bless this man--he has all the honor, passion, and love of his fellow Americans that anyone could want, and yet has to put up with all this cr** 24/7. I thing one of the things that keeps him centered is Laura.....I'm sure they have very long talks every evening when he gets home from the meat grinder!

Wow. What an article, Deb! It is SO true!

There is now a lynch mob out to get President Bush..........the political left.

But, Deb.........they WILL NOT SUCCEED!

God bless and protect our Godly President from the slander and assault of evil ones. Silence them, O LORD, we pray. We pray for victory over this new attack, that it might fall in defeat, and the President arise unscathed from these lies about him.

What a wonderful article by Mr. Lewis, DrDeb. Thanks for bringin it to my attention. I believe as Mr. Lewis does, of course. So I consider it my duty to do everything I possibly can to counter the Left's ugly slanders against this great man.

I have a Katrina timeline in photos that I'm just about ready to post. It's an eye-popper.
