Toyota will buy the naming rights to go right along with the new plant. The Alamo Cars. Has a ring to it.

I find it deplorable that the mayor goes out on national TV and lobbies for a news stadium while bodies ares till bloating in the streets.

well if he does move it, look for him to sell it to some local businessman...You're right. That's the pattern. Look at the Spurs' ownership turnover.
You can bet the San Antonio Sports Foundation already has a consortium signed up.
The only question is how much to play and who gets to be Peter Hoyt's counterpart.

I give it a day or two before the libs will claim it's being torn down due to being "contaminated" by blacks, a giant racist plot. They must have a race card to play at all times.

Makes me wonder, When would it have been torn down anyway? It's older than the Seattle King Dome and that was demolished several years ago to make room for a New Seahwaks Stadium.

CNN reporting the superdome to be torn down due to internal and external damage due to Katrina. Ping me when they get around to tearing down the rest of New Orleans....the SuperDome is a good start...

Now that my tax dollar fixed the levee and got the pumps turned on, the first thing on the mayors "to do" list, is to go out on national TV and lobby for a new stadium ?
Isn't this the very problem? Pissing *my tax dollar* away on things that don't match the priorities of the people of the city ?

Like McNichols Arena in Denver. Everybody thought it was named after the sitting Mayor's dad, but it was named after the Mayor. I had an official from the Colorado Rockies offer me money to go over ther one night and remove his name.

Well the blame is on the Saints if they are fickle. They shouldn't jerk Louisiana around in the wake of this storm destruction and misery. Can't blame Nagin for trying to play them back with a promise of a spiffy new stadium if they hint their future allegiances are still in play. I'd hope they would either say no or yes and sign their names on the dotted line either way.

In the fine tradition of the Brendan Byrne Arena in the Meadowlands and the Frank Lautenberg Train Station in Secaucus NJ. Both named while the sitting Democratic officials were in office.

I guess they didn't need the Saints to stink up the place this season.

Might be correct. But still cold and brutal.
