Couldn't they just make it a homeless shelter?

I doubt it's from storm damage.

Because a small portion of the roof blew off?...or because of the damage done by the people who were housed there for days with no operating toilets and inadequate provisions and health conditions? I bet it is more of the latter.

Glad it held up better than the WTC.

Wow. And how much did it cost to build? Will insurance pay to replace it?

DEVELOPERS: "Might as well tear it down with a hole in the roof. We'll charge the citizens of Loiusiana and United States through congress. Then the local officials will call the new stadium the NAGIN BOWL!"

Okay....now there's a little tear in my eye. I attended my first NFL Football game at the Dome with my husband back in the 1970's, watching Archie Manning. I became a lifelong Saints fan that day.

that's interesting..

I wonder where they are going to play the Sugar Bowl these next couple years....not to mention the Saints and Tulane home games (assuming the Saints don't skip town on them)

They won't need it....won't have a pro-team playing there again for some time. Wasn't it built over a cemetery?

Most of the old city was largely untouched --- French Quarter and (too a lesser degree) the Garden Districts. Indeed, some bars in the FQ did not close.

Sure there were some broken walls and torn-up roofs, and now the occassional fire as utilites crank on.

But that doesn't fit the "it's a complete disaster and Bush's fault" drum beat.

They will probably tear it down because nobody will want to go in it for fear of getting hepatitis or something.

NFL ownership will use this disaster as a excuse to bilk Americans through Congress for a new stadium that 80% of New Orleans residents will not be able to afford visiting.

A couple bunker-busters ought to do it. Saves the demolition crew from hazardous pay for tearing it down.
