He sat around twiddling his thumbs while people were suffering.

? That's not very specific. You mean to say that he did no work at all - or was it that the state of LA had not given him clearance to go in?

I just got frustrated over the FEMA guy going on TV saying stupid junk about how he didn't even know about the disaster.

I believe he said that LA offcials did not give him a full report on the true extent of the flooding and the levee damage.

His lack of leadership delayed help by days during which time people suffered and some died.

I think your picture of the facts is pretty confused.

The FEMA director usually takes his cue from the needs expressed to him by local officials - it's not FEMA's job to be the first responder.

"...I still think the FEMA guy's head should roll."

Have you called your LOCAL MANAGEMENT OFFICE yet to get all the information YOU need to know on what to do when an emergency hits?

I called mine this morning and a lovely young lady delivered me kits of information for me and all my children that I asked for.

The responsibility lies with each of us.

I don't know where you were but I was watching FEMA rescues from helicopters on Tuesday right after the levee broke. FEMA resued 3000 in the first few days. That number is up to 17,500.

The people in the Superdome were told to go to the dome with 5 days of food, water and supplies. It is also written in the mayors evacuation plan and he recorded it on his evacuation DVD. It is not FEMA's responsiblity to feed the people at the dome. It was the local authorities responsibility. Again read the disaster plan.

As for "not knowing" about the disaster, please place a link. The FEMA Director was on stage with Nagin and Blanco on Sunday night imploring people to get out of New Orleans. His crews and supplies were stationed outside the danger zone. How could they be in New Orleans during the hurricane? All people and supplies would have been wiped out. New Orleans did not take the big hit and looked as though it were spared again. FEMA headed to MS with the bulk of their equiptment. Then, the levee broke. Everything had to turn around and go to NO.

Brown may not be the best public speaker but unless you have a fact about something he did or didn't do I would suggest as Honore has said that it is all BS.

Before you blame people you should know the facts.

Every year the republicans try to move slightly more left in the attempt to find the 'good enough', or 'slightly better than a democrat'. When is the last time W shot down a spending bill? Well they have went left enough so that they are usually not 'good enough' for me if they put Rudy up for president. Hell the GOP practically worships Arnold and we are not sure he will veto a same sex marriage law that goes completely against a 2000 voter referendum.

Ill stick with conservatives, and most times local, state (depending on the state), and national legislative position they fit the bill but W has been very disappointing.

For the record, Civil Defense tells people that they should have 3 days supply of water on food on hand, because it can take FEMA that long to get supplies to the disaster area. People--individuals and families--should have been better prepared if at all possible. If you take anything to a shelter, take a backpack of food and water. Evacuate when there is still time. Don't wait for the government to do everything!

I'm sorry, but in my book results matter more than whether or not a politician is conservative enough for this or that voter. Giuliani's policies & his willingness to learn the budget process in order to cut down on wasteful spending helped to reverse the course of a city that was in decline in many ways. I realize that his stance on certain issues is far more important than reducing crime & economic growth to some people, but I am not among them. Assuming Giuliani becomes the GOP nominee, if you can name a candidate you think should oppose him who has accomplished as much as he has, then by all means vote for that person--and realize the likely consequences of those actions.

Rudy is not a gun grabber...NYC has over 8 million people who live in very close proximty to each other as well as police stations and fire houses...few NYC dwellers are legal gun owners because they don't hunt and help is a 5 minute phone call away...it may be very difficult to get a gun permit in NYC but that doesn't affect people in other states or even upstate...BTW abortion was legal in NY before Roe v. Wade...Rudy would make a great president because he is a fearless leader and a straight talker...you keep talking state issues not Supreme Court or federal issues...he refused admittance to Yasser Arafat and rejected the $10 million Saudi payoff after 9/11...he's the NYC version of a cowboy...kind of like Fonzi with a receding hairline...also he could blow Hillary out of the water.

I love you people. You make me laugh.

I 100% guarentee you, that back in the day, you would have called Reagan an illegal alien loving, terrorist appeasing wacko for signing amnesty and for some of his actions in the middle east.

Hogwash. You laugh with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight.

In 1980 the primary threat to America was the Soviet Union. Iran was the central terrorist nation, and was dealt with properly.

"Rudy will probably save this nation from a disaster in 2008." How, by confiscating firearms and supporting abortion?

Fine, vote for Hillary
