Guiliani: Don't Second-Guess Storm Effort Sep 07 2:52 PM US/Eastern
NORFOLK, Va.
Rudolph Giuliani, who guided New York City through the dark days after Sept. 11, said there is no place for second-guessing during an emergency, and he is not interested in criticizing the way government officials handled Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath.
The former mayor said before a speech Tuesday that it is too soon to draw any conclusions about whether the agencies that responded took too long or who was responsible. When the situation stabilizes, Giuliani said, the nation can examine the rescue efforts.
Giuliani said he would be willing to take a role in the relief effort but was not seeking a position.
Told by a questioner after the speech that he seemed the ideal candidate to head the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Giuliani said: "Maybe in a few years. Right now, I'm not a candidate for anything."

Rudy will probably save this nation from a disaster in 2008.

"Rudy will probably save this nation from a disaster in 2008."
How, by confiscating firearms and supporting abortion?

Good points but I still think the FEMA guy's head should roll.

Yes, after he signs an executive order legalizing homosexual "marriage" in all 50 states.

Uhmmm... surely he would be better than any democrat for President, so I could be compelled to vote for him in a contest. Anyway we all would be on the safe side only if (at least) a "liberal" SC Justice will be replaced by President Bush before 2008.

there is no place for second-guessing during an emergency No, but we ought to watch how things develop, how long it takes, what it costs, in the light of what might happen if some of these threatened WMD attacks are carried out. One city rendered uninhabitable does this, what about three cities simultanously? NO had a couple days warning. There has been four years warning for these other things.

What did the FEMA guy do wrong? He sat around twiddling his thumbs while people were suffering. I know there's plenty of blame to go around. I just got frustrated over the FEMA guy going on TV saying stupid junk about how he didn't even know about the disaster. His lack of leadership delayed help by days during which time people suffered and some died.

You are speaking of Hurricane Hillary, a Category 5 disaster, of course.
Well, Rudy would be a category 1 disaster.
I'd prefer the light drizzle of Tancredo or Allen myself. Still no sign of Reagan sunshine yet.

Giuliani has expressed support for abortion on demand for at least the first two trimesters. He has expressed the belief that only LEOs have any legitimate reason to carry firearms. He has expressed the sentiment that so-called "civil unions" should be the national answer to the controversy.
The spin is that Giuliani might support a partial-birth abortion ban, that he thinks it's OK for people to own rifles and shotguns as long as they only use them for hunting and target and that he feels that the term civil union might be better than calling it marriage.

Politicians should sit down and be quiet until called upon. Let the military do what it does so well - organize and secure. Let the engineers and tecnical experts do their jobs. Keep the funds, food, and fresh water coming.
Thank you Mr. President. Thanks to our armed forces. May God bless them and protect them all.

I agree. Just because Katie Couric, Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi say Brown has done wrong doesn't mean it is so.
I still don't know what this man did wrong. He is not a first responder. His teams are mostly volunteers that he cannot send into a crime infested area to get shot at, raped or looted.
I really haven't seen anything but spin to say Brown is at fault for anything. As Rush said he is right now the weakest part of the chain so the media and dems are pouncing.
