The Superdome incident was an incredible trauma.
Part of the reason the Feds are blamed is FEMA was talking like they were the pros, would solve everything. Brown made some stupid comments. The state first responders were called for in every plan...where were they?
Doubt any city's plans account for massive losses to their own law enforcement authority. Plans should call for state troopers as first responders.

That's one of the sad ironies in all this. One of the left's objections to fixing the levee problem was environmental. Something about disrupting habitats of ducks or some other birds on the Mississippi.

I could show this to my Liberal friend, who is college educated and an entrepeneur....and he would say exactly"Oh that's Fox , their so right wing and biasesd." They were waiting on the State Office of Homeland Security which is affiliated with the Fed Office of Homeland Security but mostly with respect to terrorist stuff - that's why FEMA getting sucked into Homeland was probably not a good thing - In fact, they should get rid of it all - the private groups coordinating with the military and Guard would habve ben far more effective.
Homeland and FEMA are all lawyers and Beuracrats.
Maybe he should go to the Astrodome and explain that to the folks. I think they'd like that.
