Scrap away the boilerplate propaganda and they're describing their experiences. Why would you doubt them? Sounds like a lot of officials have a lot to answer for.

That "encounter" between Gretna sheriff's deputies and the group sounds like accounts of Freedom Riders vs. law enforcement back in the 60's (Edmund Pettus Bridge). This article is pure BS , but what do the lefties care, they want to bring back the poisoned climate of the 60's, and that's that.

I don't know about pharmacies in their areas but around here, unleess there's a sale on, they usually don't stock thak much of the mentioned items. Demand would have quickly exceeded supply.

C-Rations huh? The military no longer issues C-Rats, so there's no way a bunch of canned food fell off a military truck. Sure, maybe they're just using the wrong term for MREs, but MREs don't set off metal detectors.

I'm not sure about the current MRE's, but when they first came out _ nectar compared to c-rats _ they were sealed in foil bags to add water to cook them with. That may date me a bit! ;>)

Oh, there's a lot more to it than that. Read the article again. Under what conditions should police comandeer private vehicles? I remember that residents of upscale hotels were sometimes allowed to leave in buses specially chartered by the hotels. Apparently, the authorities were inconsistant in their policies. Should the "rabble" have been allowed to cross the bridge? etc.
I'm sorry, but I believe this guy. His political and union affiliation notwithstanding. This sounds JUST like chaos, doesn't it? And we KNOW that's what happened. No command and control, no communication, no food and water, no shelter - regardless of whose fault it was, THIS is what it looked like to someone who was THERE. And I have to respect that.
They did get one thing right--Texans are lovely people! (especially the guy in the White House)
