I was a fan, but Santorum is trying real hard to lose the 2006 race.

I'm trying to figure out which group I despise more. The media or the U.S. Senators.
I agree. The President needs to put his foot down and tell them to start focusing on the people.

You make a very good point. Instead of a kneejerk reaction we all have to this, we need to remember we need to somebody to watch this hurricane relief money like a hawk. And I don't like the homeland security chief spending all of his time on hurricane relief - his primary focus needs to be on the terrorists who may want to take advantage of all this. Maybe a temporary point person may not be bad to make sure the Louisiana dems don't use the money to build some casinos and line their pockets. The dome repair estimate looks like a slush fund to me.

I was going to say talk is cheap. But when members of Congress start flapping their gums, it gets mighty expensive. Someone tell them to go on a permanent vacation, please.

LOL, as long as they are all CONSERVATIVES and they think like a conservative, and dole out taxpayers money like a CONSERVATIVE! I haven't seen to many in Govt in the last few weeks. Their generosity has been overwhelming.

Sen. Sessions from Al was just on C-Span. His remarks were excellent. Said his State wants to help out but in no way wants to see their money wasted.
Glad to see Sen. Santorum is on top of this....I called his DC office today.

You are a better candidate. People plucked off the street won't have political ties that lead to corruption.

Agreed.
I've been sticking by Santorum allowing him a lot of leeway given the race he is in, but this type of behavior makes me furious. I really don't believe he understands the damage he does to his re-election efforts with behavior like this.
