Syndicated 'Huffington Post' Starting Next Week [Newspaper editors "intrigued" by the blogosphere]
EditorandPublisher.com ^ | Sept. 7, 2005 | E&P Staff

Posted on 09/08/2005 4:24:19 PM PDT by summer

NEW YORK Tribune Media Services confirmed today that it will begin syndicating excerpts from The Huffington Post group blog/news site starting Sept. 12.

That was the target date TMS had cited earlier this summer (E&P Online, July 27).

The site -- named after TMS columnist Arianna Huffington -- includes mostly liberal commentary by prominent people from the worlds of publishing, politics, and entertainment.

TMS will syndicate news analyses and commentaries twice a week -- with this content drawn from what's posted on the site throughout the week. The material is available to newspapers and their Web sites in the U.S. and abroad.

"Newspaper editors are clearly intrigued by what's been going on in the blogosphere," said David Williams, president and CEO of TMS. "This new service will provide them with a wealth of provocative commentary from high-profile bloggers whose views seldom appear in the pages of newspapers."

They're not intrigued, they're scared to death because the er blogosphere is eating their lunch, literally. If they focus on leftist jerks like Huffington, they will continue to keep themselves in the dark. Of course they like the dark side.

Great, they should feature that moron from Huffington's blog who tried to contend that there was cannibalism occuring in N.O. 4 days after the storm...

Show them as the tin-foil loonies that they are...

Journalists get lazier and lazier and editors get less and less culpable.

The blogsosphere (the REAL blogosphere) is taking over everything. CBS is now attempting to recreate the "blog" experience on its evening news revamp, according to an article now linked on Drudge.

It's very funny to watch some of these longtime media people scamper around just to keep up with peons on the #1 site on the web -- FR. :)

Exactly. You are smarter than the top mop quoted in this article because you are asking the right question.

Just consider it evolution in action. Evolve or die Dinosaurs. Considering how much damage the Internet has done to the Dinosaur Media in the last 10 years despite the publishing media's 200+ years dominance in this field, we may just live long enough to see this industry die out from obsolescence
