Just because we take some hits does not mean we are somehow weaker as a nation or people or economy or military force that can whup anyone anywhere anytime! Indeed, after Pearl Harbor or after "the 60s, etc." the USA rose to become far more powerful than ever before, so don't count your "wishful thinking" for fact. We will now prove to the world why no nation on earth rivals the USA in a wide number of dimensions..... just hold your breath awhile and see!

Yeah this is gloating and kicking us while we are down. The Europeans are doing it and so are the canadians. What they fail to understand is this will only make us stronger and they cant seem to ever get their mind around the american mentality. They portray us as war mongers wanting an empire ala PAX AMERICANA and over consuming capitalist yet they dont under stand what drives us. We dont want an empire yet they fail to see what we have given to the world since ww2 ,its called freedom and democracy over communism and authoritarian rule. They also fail to understand that if we do somehow fall someday like the romans did, they will not be the ones that will be in succession to power. The EU and Canada will get pushed around like little B*tches by China and Russia in the future. They will be the subserviant nations to the Russian/Sino empire. Their best bet is to shut up and keep the NATO alliance strong.
Right. Tell that to the Taliban, Libya and the Saddam regime. The Europeans don't believe that for a second either for that matter.
A disaster of this magnitude, would have rid the world of France....
