Operation Infinite FReep, Columbia, MO

We have not posted about our activities for quite some time. We have diligently countered the peaceniks each week at the Columbia, Missouri Post Office on Saturdays, and on Wednesday afternoons near Providence and Broadway. TheSnowFlake has submitted the following report, which contains a typical accounting of what goes on each week:

Saturday- September 10, 2005

Bright and early this morning Bluesagewoman, our much appreciated, faithful bodyguard, Tom, and I stood across the Post Office from the so-called peace people, with their INFAMOUS signs and banners. The beginning of the hour, the weather was fairly mild. But, we could feel the temperature climbing minute by minute-- nothing compared to what our soldiers endure in Iraq, I'm sure. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!

The misleading and deceptive signs and banners on the opposite side were as follows: Help End The War, Contact Congress, Speak Out Daily, Honk For Peace—(held by their leader), President Bush Thou Shalt Not Kill, You Can No More Win A War Than You Can Win an Earthquake—(one of the craziest signs of all in my opinion), U.S. GI's Killed in Iraq 85 Last Month 1895 Total--How Many Iraqis Have Died?, Bring Them Home, Real Support, War No More, Weekly Vigil For a Human Foreign Policy Saturday 10:00, Declare Victory and Withdraw, Say No to Bush's Perpetual War.

On our side of the street, Bluesagewoman held two signs which read, "Our Troops Are Doing A Fine Job” and “NEVER FORGET,” with an outline of the pentagon and World Trade Center in New York in the middle of her poster. Tom held a sign saying "Want Our Troops Home? Support VICTORY,” along with our American flag waving PROUDLY in the wind!

There was a minimum amount of activity and interaction at the beginning of the hour. As is to be expected, the other side received recognition and acknowledgement from some people driving by. But, we very much appreciated all of the positive responses by others coming and going, who also share our convictions and strongly support our troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere.

One lady crossing the street from the Post Office gave us a warm, friendly smile with a big thumbs up. She paused a few minutes to express her viewpoints with Bluesagewoman. In general, she stated, "The military men and women already knew what they're getting into before they signed up for the military. They knew ahead of time they could face the possibility of death. If the opposite side are going to act that way about the military, than they must have the same attitude about our police officers and fire fighters, too. What's the difference?" she asked.

Bluesagewoman answered, "I can't make their message make sense. I can only come out here TO SUPPORT OUR TROOPS."

The other lady continued, "President Bush did not kill that lady’s [Cindy Sheehan] son, when her son signed up for the military. The point is, when they signed up to serve in the military, they knew ahead of time, they might have to die. It was a CHOICE. It was THEIR own choice. No one else made that choice for them. They CHOSE to go for themselves.

Soon she had to leave and gave us another thumbs up to show SUPPORT FOR OUR TROOPS.

A little later, a man in a blue van drove up on our side of the street with a tiny, little BUSH sticker on his front bumper. After he got out of his van, he gave us all a thumbs up and said, "You all stand there and look proud. Don't forget the Constitution."

I replied, "Thank you, sir. We're PROUD of our troops!"

Before getting into his van about fifteen minutes later, he said, "Keep up those Constitutional rights. I firmly BELIEVE if we didn't go over there, they [our enemies/terrorists] would be over here."

Then towards the end of the hour, a young lady smiled as she walked behind us and said, "Nice to see you guys on this side of the street Counter-balancing them."

Soon, it was time to disperse and go home. It’s always a breath of fresh air and much appreciated too, to have received the positive feedback from other concerned citizens in this city, and to see and hear that OTHERS HERE ALSO STAND STRONG IN SUPPORT OF OUR TROOPS, TOO. (GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!!)

As I walked away, I could hear their leader giving his group instructions for their future protests. By the way, if anyone out there would be able or interested in COUNTER-PROTESTING the so-called peace rally tomorrow (Sunday September 11, 2005), you would be more than WELCOME to join our little trio. We'll be at the parking garage at 8th and Walnut at 5:00 pm. I'm sure there will be a multitude of the so-called people tomorrow!

In conclusion, we truly appreciate, respect, support and thank all of our troops in Iraq, and in other foreign lands throughout the world, as well as here at home in The United States of America. Because no matter what, they CONTINUE to hang tough and CONTINUE to hold the Banner of Freedom High. That takes a real Hero to do that!

May The Lord continue to Bless all of our Troops- Past, Present and Future!!!

John 15:13

Greater LOVE has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friend.

And, taken from a comment by bethtopaz on Freerepublic: "We will not allow another generation of heroes to be forsaken."

Thank you TheSnowFlake for this report.

Thanks to you and Tom. This lets our Troops know that we support them and the aging hippies with their anti everything signs are simply Hanoi Jane/sKerry wannabes.

along with our American flag waving PROUDLY in the wind!

You guys flew an American flag? How disgustingly jingoistic of you!!! Don't you know that flag is the symbol of world imperialism and oppression and hegemony and yadda yadda yadda yadda bing bang?

Ha! Just kidding. Keep up the good work. I still do the 1-hour weekly Freep across the street from the Leftists here in Ft. Collins, alongside the local VFW stalwarts. We've been doing it for almost 4 years and 2 months now. I take photos occasionally. One of these days I need to put together another posting with photos. I'll ping you all when I do.

We still get around 95% to 98% of the honks from our "Give Our Troops A Honk!" sign, as opposed to the Leftists with their ineffectual "Honk For Peace!" sign.

FRegards, Columbia!
