I saw the show, and thought it was very well done. It was very poignant how the different families believed that each of their loved ones must have had an active role in the attacks on the terroists.

Many mentioned that this was the first battle in the War on Terror, and they are exactly right! The folks on that flight made a conscious decision to stop the terrorists plans to kill even more of their fellow citizens. My sister will be eternally grateful to those brave folks because her son was working for the Secretary of the Senate at the Capitol Building that morning, and she knew that the Capitol would likely have been the terrorists' target.

That was the first time I heard that CNN guys comments and was amazed. That newscaster was the only guy in the country that at that point didn't know it was a terrorist attack.

I agree with your comments, Guenevere. I was wondering why Todd Beemer's certain role in the fight was not played up more than it was. My guess is that Lisa Beemer was asked to participate in this program, but declined for whatever reason. As a result, her insights, thoughts, and observations as to what Todd would have probably done weren't available.

I wept when he asked the operator if she would pray with him, and they both recited the Lord's Prayer. I'm sure there where many, if not all, who asked God to be with them as they did what they had to do.
God Bless them all.

I saw it last night. To go from total terror to plan of attack takes real courage. They took their shot and saved lives and they went down fighting. Great examples of what we strive to be as Americans.

The man died along with the others, but do we know if he heard his mom's message????

Good point--I don't believe that Mark Bingham checked his cell phone for messages during the short time he had left.

Having said that, I do believe he was right in the thick of it. They took a vote and it carried. I believe they all played some part in stopping the Koranimals from killing anyone on the ground.

From this humble American in Los Angeles, please accept my profound thank you for your father's courage and sacrifice, and for those of the other passengers and crew of Flight 93.

Are the families OK with the red crescent design of the proposed memorial? The red crescent is the symbol of Islam.

"Those people were amazing. They saved so many, they saved our nation from more horror that day. I think they knew that. I know they knew that."

They did more than just save our nation from more horror. They became heroes on a day which was intended to be our most humiliating hour. The terrorists probably thought that nose-diving the plane into the ground would bring them honor because they had killed Americans. Quite the opposite became true. These American citizens, these heroes, told us we could fight back against terrorists and prevail.

This verse of America, The Beautiful always makes me think of the heroes of flight 93.

O beautiful for heroes proved
In liberating strife.
Who more than self their country loved
And mercy more than life!
America! America!
May God thy gold refine
Till all success be nobleness
And every gain divine!

I'm glad I watched it by myself. Boy, did I lose it when the verizon manager started praying with the man on the phone. All in all, I think Discovery did tremendous justice to the heros on that flight.

I'm surprised at myself that I didn't cry. I thought I would. I guess my tears have been replaced with stone cold anger and determination that those jihadis aren't going to take my life from me without a fight. Weird. I really thought I would just weep.

I agree with you - they did a good job on the show.

I watched too and thought they did a great job. Without naming names, I wouldn't dream of posting some of the critical things I am reading in a few posts here regarding the victims. Do not dishonor them, please.

Never forget.

His mother talked about his sexual preference - mostly in the context of him being quite masculine, and how people often couldn't wrap their minds around the fact that he was gay because of it. He liked a lot of things straight men like (sports, etc.), and she was explaining that a lot of gay men like those things.

For those wondering about Lisa Beamer - I wondered, too, so I Googled her name last night and noticed she took some pretty nasty criticism from the left for her media appearances.

They were probably fine with her until President Bush asked her to attend and stand at the SOTU (if I remember correctly). One article I read was quite vile and catty.

Who knows the kind of remarks/threats she experienced privately?

Maybe they succeeded in silencing her. I'm probably way off base, but that's a guess.

Great...Oliver Stone.

Halliburton worked with the Israelis to frame Al Qaeda; Tom Delay actually piloted all four planes on 9/11. Deer-rifle toting North Carolina backwoodsmen shot down Flight 93 after after being hypnotized by Dick Cheney.

In other words, it's all because of global warming, which is, of course, Bush's fault.

Thank you, concerning Lisa...it appears that she is still making personal appearances (most recently at a school).

Both 9/11 movies are available thru Netflix for rent. I also purchased the Flight that Fought Back from Discovery so I can show it to family and friends on each anniversary. Just take control of how you commemorate 9/11 and make it into a Super Bowl-like event (obviously with much more gravity and seriousness-but you get what I mean-invite over the neighborhood, etc.) Screw the MSM - take control of your circle of influence. My wife and I watched my purchased copy of The Flight that Fought Back on Saturday night, Sep 10 at a time convenient for us.

Well, I posted the red crescent picture on several comedian websites. Everyone of them played it off as paranoia.

What the heck is wrong with the general public expressing anger at idiocy? I figured comedians would have a field day making fun of this instead of embracing it.

When did it become a conservative attitude to get angry at blatant pandering?
