"rampaging through"?
That's the critical phrase that sets this story apart from "news" and puts it in the "BS" category.
The place was flooded ~ this is just another one of those stories about "my life and times among the fuzzy wuzzies".

I would not trade places with these people for all the gold in the world. I pray they can forgive themselves and know the Heavenly Father is a merciful Father. One cannot call what they did premeditated homicide, which is what murder is.

"If the first dose was not enough, I gave a double dose. Morphine tolerance? I wouldn't doubt that. Otherwise, I don't believe this story, unless their was just a rogue Doc doing it. I don't think this is a decision a real medical professional would make. Second time I've seen this posted, and I still don't believe it.

According to Huffington Post, blacks were eating the dead just a couple of days after going without food. Were they eating these freshly-killed dead? Or did they just grab a corpse floating by? Did they bother to warm it up first?
The liberal press does't care about facts. This story lacks all collaboration, based totally upon anonymous sources "protected from prosecution". It's booshwah until further notice.
Disregard and carry on.

Any doctor who ended a life because he or she thought that maybe they wouldn't make it because of harsh conditions, or because or rampaging criminals...committed murder, in my book. I'm also betting they were liberals.
I'm also betting they wouldn't have the cajones to defend themselves if some of those marauders showed up. What would they do then, kill THEMSELVES, because they might not be able "to make it"?

Second time I've seen this article and I still don't buy it. The pharmacy was all locked up. So where did the morphine come from? Docs just walk around with powerful opiates in their pockets that the druggies want? Something just doesn't sit right with this.

I hope we know who and the families file charges. This reminds me of the thread here yesterday about the mother that didn't think she and her daughters would get out alive and tried to talk them into suicide. These people might not have made it but they weren't given a chance.

I frankly don't believe it. Sounds more like the starving eating their own story...
The place was flooded. Not easy to get in or out of. Rapists and killers on boats?

What kind of newspaper is this? Is it a trashy tabloid? The article does not match the headline, and that's a clue for a bad newspaper. Legitimate reports from legitimate sources have stated that in each hospital there were a few patients that the doctors could not treat and could not evacuate, and were very likely to die.
Under those circumstances, any doctor or nurse will administer enough pain killers to ease the patients' suffering, which is what the quotes support. But that is very different from administering enough morphine to kill the patients.
The text describes the second circumstance, which is normal under these abnormal conditions. Therefore, the title is a lie -- a deliberate lie -- IMHO.

The first organ to fail on my mother was her skin. She was in constant pain. The hospice nurse gave me pretty much unlimited morphine in straws. I kept her medicated. She might have lived longer without it. It can relax someone and let them die but it isn't euthansia. I guess this was different. Sounds like the intent was to kill, not to ease pain. sad. but I can't help but think that there were choices.
