Luis Palau has been invited by the White House to give the closing prayer at the National Cathedral on Friday, September 16th as part of ceremonies for the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
President Bush and other dignitaries are expected to attend the special services which are part of a nation-wide initiative to stage memorial services and other appropriate observances in the wake of the Katrina disaster.
“This tragedy can be an opportunity to allow God’s love to bring healing and hope to people all across our country,” said Palau. “It has shown us that, with all of America’s freedom, our national resources, our ingenuity, our education, our military power, our wealth, and our churches, we still need God.”
Tune in to this special service on Friday, September 16th, on C-SPAN at 11:00 am EDT.

The aclu can go scratch. The more I hear the presidnet the more I love this man. We after a long wait have a president who has class and can make america proud in her darkest hours. We are so lucky .Thank you Presidnet Bush. Your leadership has made america proud.
