Spending the better half of one day and one night searching the internet for information on the Ft. Hood Muslim shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, I have found this disturbing 2009 video from the online archives of C-Span in which the terrorist appears. There has been some reference to this video in US media but not widespread it seems. It is located HEREat C-Span.Nidal Malik Hasan was apparantly an invited guest to a public address in Washington by the Israeli Ambassador to the US, Sallai Meridor. Shooter Hasan took a seat in the second row nearly across from the...

Republican senators and members of the media highlight President Obama's failure to live up to his pledge to conduct health care negotiations in full view of the public. Senators and media members also highlight the White Houses alarming tendency to seek to punish those who dont share its views.

Linked is a great interview with S.E. Cupp, author of Why You Are Wrong About the Right. S.E. discusses politics, sports, writing, and her inspirations. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ATz6MS9YPU She is a FReeper favorite, but if you haven't heard of her, you must watch this video. She is the future of the Right.

Here is video of conservative Andrew Breitbart appearing on C-Span this morning where he talked about how he came to be a conservative, and took calls from callers on the program. Breitbart called out some who called on the "Republican line," when, in fact, it was clear they were "seminar callers" posing as conservatives. Andrew Breitbart is a real American hero for his efforts to get the truth out in spite of the liberal media's control over so much. He speaks the truth clearly and without apology, and conservatives should be thankful there is a leader like him standing up...

Watching the House of Representatives on late-night C-SPAN, you might have any number of reactions, including seppuku-inducing boredom. Depending on who's talking, you might also feel disgust, rage, contempt or, in rare cases, inspiration. But one reaction you probably won't have is: "Gosh, if only there were more of these jokers." That's too bad. Because what our political system may be lacking more than anything else is enough members of Congress. No, really. Seriously, stop laughing. Except for a brief effort to accommodate Alaska and Hawaii, the size of the House has been frozen at 435 members since 1911.

I know I had a tough time finding a broadcast of the 9/12 Rally. When I found it, I posted it on PyraBang. I was not a member here, yet. So, if any of you would like to see the recording, just click the link. http://www.pyrabang.com/view.php?ref=dandan&post_id=41059

This afternoon our Comcast digital cable box switched to C-span by itself while Democrats were trashing Rep. Wilson. The box would not allow us to watch any other station for approximately 15 minutes. When I called to complain Comcast technical support said that they were performing a "test of the emergency broadcast system" that switched all digital boxes in Western Washington to C-span and would not allow subscribers to watch anything else. They said that the programming taking place on C-span was merely a coincidence.

I flipped on C-Span 2 at seven this morning to see Nation writer D.D. Guttenplan promote his hagiography of the Soviet agent and Communist camp follower I.F. Stone, to a group of aging Vermont radicals with similar political fantasies. In the break, C-Span advertised its segment at 9 featuring Guttenplan's boss, Nation editor Katrina vanden Heuvel, which turned out to be a panel promoting socialism along with a Nation collection of diatribes against the Bush years and the free market economy. In between there was a conservative French economist, Gary Sorman talking about his new book. Every time I watch...

...It makes me puke that we have just been "Cheneyed" by a man named Barak Obama- Greg Palas on Air America 8/11/09 The world must nearing an end, snowballs are being thrown in Hell, and pigs are growing wings. Air America is bashing their messiah Barack Obama. It all stems from the secret meetings President Obama had with the people from the Pharmaceutical Industry to craft deals and win support for Obamacare. Even the ultra-liberal Air America has figured out that something sneaky happened in those meetings, especially since Pharma is now the President's most favored industry. During the January...

I was trying to find the C Span film made some time back, probably during Hillarycare, where people from Denmark were testifying before Congress that more than 5,000 a year were put to death, unwillingly, because their healthcare costs too much. They have some sort of board that, if I remember corectly, takes a computer decision, and cuts off healthcare from people that want to live. Of course the Dems pooh poohed it, but the witnesses were compelling. Their family members were cut off their treatments purly for money reasons. Of course there are many that accept the death decision,...

Any FReepers attending today that can check in and give us on-site info? C-Span will be broadcasting but no link available yet...I have a feeling that this may be one for the history books! Here is video from C-Span this morning where a caller named "Leah," from Manchester, New Hampshire, hammered the news media for calling people like herself part of an "organized mob." She indicated she is an independent who has never been politcally active, but has felt compelled to get involved because of the danger of the Democrats' Government Health Care Plan. She then rattled off a laundry list of Democrat claims about their legislation that just don't measure up to the reality of what is in it. She also blasted the constant use of the "race card," saying that it was...

"When I watch the news people stand here and tell me that I am a member of a hired mob, that I've been called up by the Republican Party, they only wish they could have done something like this. I've never been contacted by any organized group." So fabulously stated a caller during Saturday's "Washington Journal" on C-SPAN in a monologue that is likely to go viral throughout the Internet and possibly make the speaker America's next Joe the Plumber.

In a sobering holiday interview with C-SPAN, President Obama boldly told Americans: "We are out of money." C-SPAN host Steve Scully broke from a meek Washington press corps with probing questions for the new president. SCULLY: You know the numbers, $1.7 trillion debt, a national deficit of $11 trillion. At what point do we run out of money? OBAMA: Well, we are out of money now. We are operating in deep deficits, not caused by any decisions we've made on health care so far. This is a consequence of the crisis that we've seen and in fact our failure to...

President Obama vowed in an interview Saturday that his health care plan will provide “basic coverage” to all Americans — a linguistically different choice than “universal” care — but reiterated his commitment to the idea of reform. Speaking to C-SPAN Political Editor Steve Scully in the White House Library, Obama also said the country can expect a Supreme Court nominee “soon,” that financially struggling states like California will not receive a federal bailout, and that the U.S. auto industry will emerge from its fiscal crisis “leaner, meaner and more competitive.” Obama said reform is more possible in 2009 than it...

NewsBuster Tim Graham asked Saturday if comedienne Wanda Sykes, appearing at the annual White House Correspondents' Association Dinner, would really make fun of President Barack Obama or go all gentle. Well, the answer is likely worse than any of us could have imagined, for Sykes used this platform to attack conservatives rather than the person who is historically roasted at this event. In fact, her only real knocks on Obama were that he's constantly being photographed with his shirt off, and that if he screws up, everybody will blame it on "the half white guy!" After some respectful and largely...

Arthur "A.B.'' Culvahouse, a prominent Washington attorney who served as White House counsel to President Ronald Reagan during the president's final two years and led Sen. John McCain's search for a running mate - a search that included a "long list'' of 26 candidates - told the tale today of picking Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. After the vetting of all the candidates, and paring them to a short list, McCain asked Culvahouse for the "bottom line'' on Palin. ""I said, 'John, high risk, high reward,''' Culvahouse said today. "His response - 'You shouldn't have told me that. I've been a...

Sunday's Q&A session with Mona Charen and Ruth Marcus is scheduled for rebroadcast this morning at 5:50 - 6:50 AMEDT on C-Span. Moderated by Brian Lamb, the program explores the political and cultural interests and views of this odd couple, who in fact went to the same high school together and claim to be friends. The program includes excerpts from a similar interview with the two from three years ago, giving them the chance to revise and extend some of their comments. Interesting to hear them go at topics such as the nature of man and the need for government...

I was the guest on C-SPAN’s “In Depth” program on Sunday, April 5. Afterward, the volume of my e-mail messages rose substantially as people wrote to me to express their opinion of my performance or to ask me questions. Although many of these messages sent approbation, for which I am grateful, others, like most of the people who called in during the program, were less than complimentary. I had a foreboding that one of these messages might contain, shall we say, a bit of denunciation when I saw that its subject line read “You’re a fucking STUPID and VAPID.” In...

Well, the subject heading is the question, but let me explain why I'm asking. I'm Australian living in Australia, with a serious interest in US politics as well as that of my own country. I've heard about C-SPAN for years and thought it sounded like a worthwhile thing to watch, and wished we had something similar here. Well, just recently FoxTel, which is the largest pay-TV provider in Australia created a new channel called A-PAC (Australia's Public Affairs Channel) which was designed to be based on the idea of C-SPAN but covering Australian issues. It's not bad, I'm finding it...

(Video on site) After accusing the previous administration of a lack of oversight, Crowley says this: Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Welcome to the committee, Mr. Geithner, and thank you for your responses so far. It never ceases to amaze me the level of apparent amnesia some of my colleagues on the other side of the aisle have had about how we got to this problem in the first place, and I thank you for answering Mr. Heller’s question in particular. By the line of questioning, you’re almost led to believe that because of a last month and a few days...

...What we discovered is that Santelli’s “rant” was not at all spontaneous as his alleged fans claim, but rather it was a carefully-planned trigger for the anti-Obama campaign. In PR terms, his February 19th call for a “Chicago Tea Party” was the launch event of a carefully organized and sophisticated PR campaign, one in which Santelli served as a frontman, using the CNBC airwaves for publicity, for the some of the craziest and sleaziest rightwing oligarch clans this country has ever produced. Namely, the Koch family, the multibilllionaire owners of the largest private corporation in America, and funders of scores...

Bill Gertz, defense and national security reporter for The Washington Times, argues that high-level bureaucrats in the State Department, White House, Pentagon, and CIA have repeatedly undermined the Bush administration's national security policies. Mr. Gertz says that these unelected officials - liberals from both political parties - have pursued their own agendas towards countries like Iran, China, North Korea, and Iraq and have weakened U.S. security as a result. Mr. Gertz discusses his book with Frank Gaffney, president and CEO of the Center for Security Policy.
