Section Theme: Please Don't Play That Song--EVER!

Comment: Last week, MoJo and kids decided to listen to the radio. This isn't something we normally do. There's no need when you have MP3 capabilities. Anyhoo, we decided to torment ourselves. Anyways, a local radio show decided to ask the listeners what songs or artists annoyed them. This didn't take long to stir disagreement in MoJo's car. However, hotstreak wrote down the songs while we stuck in traffic. What else was there to do?

Britney Spears	I'm A Slave 4 U	There wasn't any particular Britney song that the listeners were complaining about, but Britney bashing was in full mode. Poor Brit.
Christina Aguilera	Dirrty (Not For Kids)	If they weren't bashing Britney, they were bashing Christina. I think Christina has an incredible voice. Just too much exposure.
Crazy Frog	Axel F	As one listener said, "this song proves that techno music sucks". Whether one agrees with that, MoJo most certainly hates the song. Timmy and hotstreak disagreed.
Green Day	Wake Me Up When September Ends	This album and song have really riled up folks in MoJo's area. I may not agree with their views, but I believe they should be heard. Refusing to buy or listen to their music isn't censorship. It's your right as a consumer.
Cyndi Lauper	Girls Just Wanna Have Fun	hotstreak and the guy that called in both agreed this song was *lame*. WHATEVER!
INXS	Need You Tonight	MoJo loves this song. Silly people. Sheesh!
Vanilla Ice	Ice Ice Baby	Still no love for the Iceman.
Deee Lite	Groove Is In The Heart	What's wrong with this song? It's a good song. Grrr!
Ricky Martin	Livin La Vida Loca	No comment. MoJo is walking away from this.
Right Said Fred	I'm Too Sexy	Radix should be really ticked about this.
Spice Girls	Wannabe	If it wasn't Christina or Britney, it was the Spice Girls who were being bashed. Yikes!
Sugar Ray	Fly	MoJo loves this song as well.
Whitney Houston	I Will Always Love You	The song is beautiful and better than Dolly doing it, but Whitney tends to overkill most of her songs. Sheesh!
Billy Ray Cyrus	Achy Breaky Heart	Well, he's better looking than all of the members of Green Day. There's that, huh? Hehe!
Aqua	Barbie Girl	Since MoJo flushed the head of her only Barbie down the toilet, I really love this song! Hehe! MoJo's mommy decided Barbie wasn't my thing.

Comment: This section has artists MoJo wishes she'd get to play more. A few of these folks get played a lot more, but overall there are so many artists that we could be sharing with all of you. Comment: As a youngster, MoJo used to tune in on the weekends to Casey Kasem's America's Top 40. And while I do not agree politically with him...I thoroughly enjoyed my time listening to him. Besides, who doesn't  love the man who is the voice behind Shaggy? Although, I never caught onto that when I was 8 years old.

The Dr. Demento Show is radio's weekly two-hour festival of "mad music and crazy comedy" heard on stations coast to coast. It is a free-wheeling, unpredictable mix of music and comedy. Along with legends like Spike Jones, Tom Lehrer, Stan Freberg, Monty Python, and Frank Zappa, the Doctor plays new funny songs sent in by amateur and professional singers and comedians. That's how the world was introduced to "Weird Al" Yankovic, who went on to become rock music's best-known funny person.
