"I Will Rebuild With You, Mr. President"--A Hopeful Democrat Speaks Up, Positively!
The Washington Post ^ | Saturday, September 17, 2005 | Donna Brazile

"On Thursday night President Bush spoke to the nation from my city. I am not a Republican. I did not vote for George W. Bush -- in fact, I worked pretty hard against him in 2000 and 2004. But on Thursday night, after watching him speak from the heart, I could not have been prouder of the president and the plan he outlined to empower those who lost everything and to rebuild the Gulf Coast."

Normally, I would think you are right, but Koppel's guy interviewed four people, and they ALL said the same thing; and earlier that day, on FOX, I saw a black pastor and his wife with almost the same comments. As Bob Dylan said, "The times, they are a-changin'."

Hopefully Sean Hannity will have her on the radio and ask her about Sharpton, Jackson and the other racist , how she stands on that, if she thinks the Prez is a racist. She is cozying up as Hillary was turning right. Perhaps she agrees on this part of his domestic program, but agreeing with the Prez, kind of pulls the impression of the Dems away from Kerry and MoveON.org.

It might have taken a catastrophe to hit home for Brazile to have her wake up call. To realize she needs what the President is offering and bold enough to acknowledge it says much.

I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for now. We'll definately have, for the record, when and how she's willing to work with this President.

"The polls showed that attacking the President over the hurricane was driving pepople away from them, and they sent out talking points last night changing their strategy.
"

The democrats are dead and just doesn't realize it yet.

Well, that's true. Once the lefty Dem drumbeat got going, they all scampered back to Dem land.

I am hoping that, in this case, the specific things to be done over the next months and years will keep wavering Dems a little more engaged. After 9/11, they could sit back and let the President take care of it while they carped and let their aging leadership take them back to the glory days of 1968. In addition, the official Dem party has moved much further to the left than it was even at the time of 9/11, and it's possible that some Dems are wondering if this was really the way they wanted to go.

I concur. Brazile has seen that the best strategy is to cooperate on this issue. Too bad for the rats since their base will abandon anyone who gives aid and comfort to the evil and imbecilic BushCo administration. They must be having heart palpitations over at DU.

It is a great time to be a Republican.
