"On Thursday night President Bush spoke to the nation from my city. I am not a Republican. I did not vote for George W. Bush -- in fact, I worked pretty hard against him in 2000 and 2004. But on Thursday night, after watching him speak from the heart, I could not have been prouder of the president and the plan he outlined to empower those who lost everything and to rebuild the Gulf Coast."

This is Democrat speak for, "Damn, I wish we would have thought of this! "
I got goosebumps reading this article.
Oh, please. This woman is a racist, lesbian radical. She will make cooperative noises at first. Then, when the money goes into infrastructure, instead of into the pockets of the "poor," or if he insists on any accountability at all as to how the money is spent, she'll start bashing Bush and say, "Gee, I believed him. But he's nothing but a mean, lying Republican. We must elect Hillary."
I wouldn't trust this woman as far as I could throw her.
I think you're being naive. The Democrats are back-tracking.
This has already been posted, and drew a lot of cynical comments. Personally, I think she is sincere and I think there may even be other honest Dems out there who agree with her. Remember that Jesus said not to quench the smoldering flax - that is, don't stomp out hopeful signs simply because they aren't perfect. I thought her words were great and I hope they reach Dems all over the country. I'm sick of Dem partisan politics destroying this country.
Damn! Hell just froze over.

You're right...she does LOVE social programs. I'm more thinking she's just liking the sound of the "we'll help you start a business", "we'll help you with your child care", and all that while we ALSO rebuild!
They probably DO want to rebuild 'Rat "plantations".
GW's first convert?
I completely agree. Never for one moment forget how cozy Brazile has been with the Clintons, nor for how long. She has most assuredly NOT left that camp. Take her words at nothing more than face value, for it is the most they will ever be worth on a good day.

I agree...I do think she's sincere. I just think she finally heard somthing from this Republican President that clicks with her thinking. I'm glad. Maybe there are others like her that will follow her lead.
Bush's Fault
I think this is a good sign. I am not expecting the Dems to all suddenly alter their ideology. I'm just glad that one of them is being a decent human being, even if I disgagree with her politics.
If only there were more dems like DB!
There are...They're just afraid to speak out....Don't know what's in their FBI files and who has them.....Donna knows and doesn't care.
But when all of a sudden Landrieu and Blaco, followed by Ellen Ratner, Bob Beckel, and Donna Brazile, ALL support the President and start saying complimentary things, I can only conclude one thing:
The polls showed that attacking the President over the hurricane was driving pepople away from them, and they sent out talking points last night changing their strategy.
Wasn't she also the one who started the GH Bush/extramarital-affair nonsense during his presidential campaign? I just don't trust her.
