Rita appears to be taking a similar track to Katrina. Not that I wish bad on anyone, but I hope it continues west and hits in Mexico. Florida and the Gulf Coast have had more than enough of our share of hurricanes in the past two years. Somebody else's turn.

437 miles from Tampa Bay. Local weather dude says, looks like Texas not us but it's too early to call imo. By Thursday, I think we'll have a better idea about what Rita's up to.

Last night the state of Texas determined it might need to send the remaining Katrina refugees in Texas Shelters elsewhere in order to have shelter capacity for Texan Rita evacuees.
