Rita appears to be taking a similar track to Katrina. Not that I wish bad on anyone, but I hope it continues west and hits in Mexico. Florida and the Gulf Coast have had more than enough of our share of hurricanes in the past two years. Somebody else's turn.

Well here it comes again. We got run over by Katrina when she was a pup, so Rita doesn't look so bad, yet.

Hey if my toddler can say no 100000000 times in order to get out of experiencing something he dislikes, why won't it work for me?

We could sure use the rainfall here in central Texas. Going to Port A. in three weeks or so. Starting to have selfish thoughts.

What's the situation after the storm passes?
I'm due to fly to Naples, Fla., on the west coast, on Wednesday for work (outdoors) on Thursday and Friday.
Will this prevent that?

Residents of the effected areas, stand on the beach and scream bloody murder...you'll get more federal aid that way.

Hey, could somebody suggest that we put our location in our taglines...at least until Rita is disposed of one way or another?
[Late to the thread. Sorry if it's already been suggested.]

437 miles from Tampa Bay. Local weather dude says, looks like Texas not us but it's too early to call imo. By Thursday, I think we'll have a better idea about what Rita's up to.

Last night the state of Texas determined it might need to send the remaining Katrina refugees in Texas Shelters elsewhere in order to have shelter capacity for Texan Rita evacuees.
