He was the guy who forged documents to hurt Republicans.
Pray for W and Our Iraq Winning Troops
I was being facetious in an attempt to illustrate Dan Rather's insignificance in the grand scope of things. :-)
I pray for W and our Soldiers every day my friend! But thanks all the same for the reminder! It's always good to hear somebody make the request!

"Nevins said that even in the documentary world, there's a certain kind of intimidation brought to bear these days, particularly from the religious right. " Hey, this fool should try doing something the anti-religious left doesn't like. He'd consider the reaction he's whining about welcome in comparison.

Dan Rather? No that name doesn't ring a bell. But wait, Pavlov, that's a name that rings a bell.
Now that's weired...The name "Pavlov" makes me drool. :-)

Were supposed to take seriously an institution that puts forth a disgraced charlatan ... caught red handed forging documents in a presidential run-up ... as an honored elder spokesman?
Dispicable.

Former CBS News anchor Dan Rather said Monday that there is a climate of fear running through newsrooms stronger than he has ever seen in his more than four-decade career I bet this is true. MSM reporters can no longer get away with lying for liberalism without instant fisking by a horde of bloggers and bulletin board posters. That must be scary indeed.

Who's he kidding? This "intimidation" is simply "accountability" - and the left HATES accountability.

So let me get this straight...Dan's best was "tarted up coverage?" He is saying that the news was tarted up and now they are afraid? Are they afraid that the viewership interest for tarted up coverage is on the wane?
He makes no more sense than when he made up the news. He wouldn't even be able to write a good novel.

Dan Rather is one of my idols....
Who else is a huge AH and a complete moron and gets paid so well for their fictional reporting? That's Incredible!

What the HELL is up with these sob sister girly-men like Rather and Voinovich???
IMHO Rather tries to ape Cronkite, who teared up while broadcasting Kennedy's assassination.

Of course there is a climate of fear running through newsrooms. Forged documents and fake news stories can no longer stand without scrutiny. In the 70's, VVAW were allowed to use fake veteran's to make up stories of US atrocities, and there was no easy way for people to verify the identities of the scum, and even if they could be outed, no news outlet or major newspaper would have ever brought the facts to the general public.
Now thanks to the internet, a political forum named Free Republic, with help from blogs like LGF and the FNC, brought down one of the major icons of the left. I truly believe if we had the same means of information during the 60's and 70's the Vietnam war would have had a different ending.
I truly hope Dan Rather has nightmares where he is running from his anchor chair, trying to shred the NG memoes, while a group of Freepers led by Buckhead, TankerKC and Jim Robinson chase him.
